GimmeDatt: Like the picks

I have:

NC -10
Maryland -6
GaTech -7
Temple -5
Cornell +18

gotta love the acc tonight. 3 wins by big ten teams has been the max the last two years in the challenge.

MICHIGAN ST
[C] Goran Suton is downgraded to expected to miss Wednesday vs. North Carolina - Knee - 12/02/08

N CAROLINA
[F] Marcus Ginyard is expected to miss another month. - Foot - 12/03/08
(!) [C] Tyler Hansbrough missed last game, probable Wednesday vs Michigan St. - Ankle - 12/02/08

Regardless of how much he even plays.. there's the X factor!

---------------------

Dunno what HD is thinking.. Hansborough will see at least some time and tie up 2 michst defenders.:money8::money8:

damn dude you are lovin you some NC tonite...agree with most of your writeup, the only part i question is your final point -- Izzo is one of the best coaches in the country, he is also one of the best motivators...what better way to get his team to come out spitting fire than to tell the press they aren't ready for this stage? BOL

They really aren't ready for this stage. He'll motivate the best he can, but the fact is, they're not. IMO...BOL :toast:

I don't disagree. Part of Izzo's brilliance is that his teams always seem to improve a lot from the beginning of the year to the end. I just can't take that quote as evidence of a pending NC victory cuz, as you know, playing possum before the big game is one of the oldest tricks in the book...I am hoping for a good game to watch, actually, as im pretty sure the Wake/Indiana matchup won't even whet my appetite =)

Nobody is more impressed by the potential of the Heels than I am, but crazy things happen in this game...if anyone can frustrate a team and get them out of their flow, it is an Izzo coached team - I think the line is set perfectly, and this is backed up by the split of opinions on this knowledgable board...i cant quite get off the fence myself

I don't know why people back the Big Ten EVER in these challenges. Are they really even challenges if the ACC kicks the Big Ten's ass every year? I didn't see why so many people on the forum were on Purdue last night and I don't see why they are on Michigan St. Michigan St isnt that good of a basketball team. In the Big Ten, sure they are, they only have Purdue and Wisconsin as competition. Against the rest of the top 25 though, they are mediocre. They lack a shooter now that Neitzel is gone, and the fact that it isnt in the Breslin Center will help out UNC a ton. Just like when everyone thought that Notre Dame +10.5 on a neutral court was a lock, UNC is just THAT much better than everyone else.
