But when I was watching the game I was wondering why the clock was stopped. I thought the Giants took the result of the play so the penalty should have been a moot point. Wasn't that the play where Beckham caught the first down pass? I thought the clock should have started because they didn't take the penalty.
Sorry, but you don't know any rules, and neither did the announcing team. What is worse, is that neither announcer mentioned that the play clock didn't restart. That is a huge moment in the game, which basically give the Dallas a one percent to to win, instead of a zero chance to win. And I guarantee you that you weren't thinking of how lucky Dallas was that they committed a penalty there while that sequence was unfolding. o

It turns out that there is some outrageous rule that creates this loophole that saves Dallas. For you to lie about it after finding out about this rule that nobody knows show that you are a joke. This rule will be changed during the offseason.
