Guys/Gals

I have found a house I want to buy, I have residency and have been at the same job for years. I have heard so many stories my head is spinning about what's next. I have heard that Interfin & Banex are the two who like to loan moeny the most is that correct? I have been with Nacional and BCR for years, should I transfer my money out of these banks and into a more lender friendly one? How about financing via seller, does that happen? What do you tell the lender when they ask your occupation? What are the general interest rates? Is it possible to get the down payment below 20%? How about 0%? Thanks in advance for any and all info.

My first advice is to make sure that the price IS right, outrageous prices are something really common these days.

I use BAC San Jose, they are (I believe) the largest private bank in CR and with the huge reveunues they get from their Credit Card operation they are quite large and solvent, they are also not as incredibly burocratic as BCR or BNCR

One experience I heard about, the bank wanted assurance the business/occupation was *not* sportsbook related.

I've never seen zero percent financing on anything. Not cars, not TV's, let alone houses. In fact I've seen many wanting 50% down.

Adam is right about not sportsbook, you know how it goes possibilities are ecommerce/website building/website hosting/manager of call center that handles support calls from the USA about computers/credit cards/etc etc

The only thing that I imagine can explain such behavior is that they might considered that such jobs are not "secure" and you could end up unemployed without warning .......like that is not the case with other "normal" jobs
