Here are my selections for this weekend:
2* Alemannia Aachen pk +101 (Pinnacle)
I guess you can see the pattern by now. I'm once again betting against Hamburg and the reason is the same we've successfully used in the past weeks. They are weak and showing no signs of improvement.
How can the second to last place team that has won only once in 16 league games be favored in an away game with a team that is ahead of them by 6 points? Simply because the public still likes this team based on their past successes. But is now and there is no way to favor Hamburg in this matchup which is why I'm going with the home dog. Aachen is by no means a powerhouse but they play solid at home where they have already given much better teams trouble.
2* 1. FC Nürnberg +116 (Pinnacle)
Warning: This is a bet on a team that has produced draws in 11 of their 16 league games. Nobody can be surprised if this game ends 0-0 or 1-1 especially as it looks like a low scoring game.
Why still a play? Because I think the odds are too high as Nürnberg is the better team imo. Don't forget that Hannover was in last place not too long ago and seemed to be headed towards Bundesliga 2 rapidly. Then they remained unbeaten in 4 straight games and now everybody praises them like the first 12 games of the season had never happened. I don't doubt that they are improved and playing with more confidence now but if you look at their unbeaten streak you see that 3 of those games were against some of the weakest teams in the league (Mainz/Mönchengladbach/Cottbus) and they only squeezed out 1-0 against all of them.
Nürnberg the better team and worth a shot at +116 imo.
3* Karlsruher SC -0,5/-1 -108 (Pinnacle)
Karlsruhe still the best team in Bundesliga 2 imo. After screwing me two weeks ago when I played them at home against Aue, they came back with an extremely impressive performance in last Monday nights 4-0 win at Freiburg. Fürth is a team in trouble that hasn't shown a convincing performance in weeks. Karlsruhe has a chance to win the inofficial winter title and be in first place throughout the Christmas break. This is what they want and will do on Sunday. No way that they will once again fail at home.
2* TuS Koblenz Draw +220 (Gamebookers)
Another draw bet and since I'm 2 for 2 in those so far this year I'm courageous enough to play it for 2*.
Two struggling teams that will be satisfied with a draw in what should be a low scoring game. Koblenz officials even said that their goal is to go into the Christmas break with 20 points, they have 19 right now. Freiburg in big trouble after their 4-0 home loss to Karlsruhe last Monday will be equally happy not to lose again.
Draw bets obviously always a dangerous thing but I feel very confident with this one.
