Former Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett, who led the Bulldogs to their second straight CFP National Championship earlier this month, was arrested on a misdemeanor public intoxication charge in Dallas on Sunday morning.
In a statement to ESPN, a Dallas Police Department spokesperson said officers responded to a report of a man banging on doors in the 1600 block of Tribeca Way at 7:10 a.m. ET on Sunday.
"The preliminary investigation found when officers arrived, they located the man, Stetson Bennett, 25, and determined he was intoxicated," the police statement said. "Bennett was taken into custody, transported to the City Detention Center and charged with public intoxication."
Bennett couldn't be reached for comment Sunday.
Bennett, who started his college career as a walk-on, was a Heisman Trophy finalist this past season, after leading the Bulldogs to a 15-0 record and SEC championship. He passed for 4,127 yards with 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions, while rushing for another 10 scores.
Bennett was named the offensive MVP in both of Georgia's victories in the CFP, a 42-41 comeback win against Ohio State in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl and a 65-7 rout of TCU in the CFP National Championship presented by AT&T.
Bennett, who is listed at 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds, is considered a potential selection in April's NFL draft. He recently won the Manning Award, which is given to the top quarterback in the FBS by the Allstate Sugar Bowl.

School? Lol this dude won two nattys for UGA. He submits what grades he wants and they deliver. Plus we all know nobody really learns shit in college except it’s a waste of time and money for 85% of the degrees.

They teach basic biology stuff in GC mandatory courses. Same proton neutron or cytoplasms mitochondria cell stuff or animal kingdom coloring book stuff you are taught 4th grade 8th grade then again in HS.

He ran but he didn't resist once they caught him. Good idea. Why don't others think of that.

Gotta love the video. Got tackled by a cop harder than TCU defense

Drunk driving and try’s to run off. Gets tackled and immediately feels the cops were in the wrong and to blame. As if A) his driving drunk and B) tryin to run from scene didn’t cause this. Lol this is the new America do whatever ya want and even when caught immediately shift blame to the law

Bad idea to run.
Had they said something to him before he ran? I didn't see that.

If he was already engaged by them it sure is a bad idea to run. But I didn't see that.

And I had to laugh how surefire that cop's tackle was. Bet Bennett never got collapsed that hard in his whole career. Ironic and funny.

Because they think they have the right to do as much as possible without fault or consequences. Nobody is taught accountability anymore. It’s never your fault

The kid killed by 5 cops seems like good kid. But jumps out the car. Gets taken down. Pepper spray and taser twice. 100 times give me your hands. 3 cops on ground trying get his hands. Then he runs. Gets caught again. Same shit. Not once did he just take the cuffs and deal with whatever reason later. Cops probably pissed. Deal with that shit every day. So they broke out the ass whipping can. Right no. But not a single outlet asking why didn’t he just do as told. Even if cops were in wrong for pulling him. He never gets beat up or maybe even cuffed if he didn’t do all the other stuff 100 times. Cops are guilty of murder. Kid is guilty of being dumb and now unfortunately dead

No it’s Stetson

You can tell by the beard or facial hair. 100% him! Baby face Stetson finally hit puberty after Tcu game and became a man! Grew beard! Started drinking! Started running from cops! Real man stuff. Real football player stuff
