IF kerry is elected that taxes would go up within the first 100 days.

is that even possible?

i have no doubt that people with household incomes of $50,000 and more will definetly see tax increases if kerry is elected, but within a hundred days???

OUCH.

I wish I could only worry about taxes. Jr needs to be worrying about our troops in Iraq. As someone else posted similar, our Marines and Soldiers are warriors, not baby sitters, BUT damn this Jr has got us in a mess.

You realize that somebody will eventually have to pay back all of Dubya's deficits, right? Did you see the recent Medicare forcast? Only 12 years left (or so) ...

I bet those in desperate need of health care will be voting against the repeal of Bushies credit card tax break

"Is that really possible"

BM: Of course not.

Well not unless the Congress next spring choooses to raise taxes.

The President cannot raise OR lower taxes. All he can do is submit his budget preferences.

It's the same lies that Daddy Bush claimed about Clinton in 1992. You remember, just before we began an 8 year run of economic prosperity that included balancing the budget for the first time in a half century.

No President EVER accomplishes what he claims he will do in his first 100 days. About the most mythical thing out there and Bush is spending his $200 million trying to make those claims. The gas tax claim is really ridiculous. Congress can't even agree to index the gas tax that has stood at 18.4 cents since the late 90s. Kerry never claimed a gas tax was part of his current plans and that claim is from Kerry agreeing back in the early 90s when Ross Perot suggested a 50 cent tax could be part of a deficit reduction plan, but it hasn't been an issue in play since then. So how irresponsible is it to try to scare voters into thinking their gas taxes are going to go up 50 cents within 100 days if they elect Kerry? Thank goodness Bush is a politician otherwise they would call his people what they are...liars.

clintons attempt to balance the budget was a failure. he cut our military down to shit, took away all kinds of benefits from our veterans.

there are better ways of doing things than to shit on our armed forces.

RPM: clintons attempt to balance the budget was a failure.

B: Simply untrue. He left office with a surplus.

RPM: he cut our military down to shit, took away all kinds of benefits from our veterans.

there are better ways of doing things than to shit on our armed forces.

B: I don't disagree with you. But it doesn't change the fact that the annual federal budget in 2000 and 2001 was balanced and showing a surplus.

As for cutting back on veterans and also not providing adequate supplies and equipment for our military, the record of the current President is no improvement at all.

If Republicans are of the mindset that if you shrink the tax base, you cut off the ability of government to grow...could someone say if you cut off the military you shrink the ability to engage in endless wars? If the military was even smaller, would Bush have passed on the Iraqi plans until they cleaned up and stabilized Afghanistan?
