read initial story and skimmed through the posts. My points might have been echoed already.

First off and most importantly hitting the same line 15+ times is silly.

More importantly I visited bluegrass and checked the limits and it states the max wager is 500$. What more is there to know? Of couse they don't have to pay you. It notes on the limits page if you want to bet heavier call them.

I don't get what the problem is.

oh and the point about the book probably taking the bets if you would have lost. Hopefully if that occurred they would refund the money but that all depends on the morality of the book. Its really not a significant point though as you put yourself at the mercy of the book by breaking the rules.

hpark - they waited until AFTER the game lost before they cancelled the wagers.

Find me a book that has EVER cancelled a losing wager of 5-10 dimes after the bet has lost. please sir, do that for me.

If you didnt skim you would see:

They dont differentiate in the rules between "pr. ticket limit" (pinna-style) and total limit (wwts-style).
As I had several times seen multiple bets graded losses as well as wins I had to think that they would honour any taken bets.
If they wanted to change policy; ok with me - all they had to do was call me before the game and cancel the bets. They didnt.

its irrelevant when they cancelled the wagers. The wagers never existed according to their rules. There limits clearly state a $500 max.

Who cares when they cancelled the wagers? You can only bet $500 on a game.

Period.

Why is this so confusing??? I don't get it.

they, and other books, let people circumvent the limits by placing numerous plays over the limit. pinnacle does. wsex does. so did bluegrass with this guy until this time when he crushed them.

When I look at a page which states limits I think it is safe to say it usually means the total limit. Why would it state below;

Note** This limits are not strict and can be higher on management discretion. If you want a higher amount please call 1877-852-3896 and request it

You think placing the maximum allowed wager online 15+ times is normal??? If mb didn't believe he was doing anything out of line why wouldn't he/she pick up the phone and call and make 1 wager instead of sitting online and clicking his max wager allowed online 15+ times???

The only fault of the book is that their software obviously isn't prepared for someone exceeding the limits.

MR. PARK - MAYBE HE LIVES IN A COUNTRY WHERE HE CANNOT PLACE A PHONE CALL TO THE BOOK. ALSO, DO YA THINK THE BOOK WAS NOT MONITORING WHAT WAS GOIN ON? C'MON GUY, THEY MONITOR HEAVY BETS VERY CLOSELY. THEY KNEW EXACTLY WHAT WAS GOIN ON. THE BOOK HAS BEEN AROUND FOR A WHILE. IT KNOWS FULL WELL ITS SOFTWARE TAKES BETS OVER THE LIMIT. IN THE PAST, IT HAS TAKEN THIS GUY'S BETS OVER THE LIMITS!!!!

THE BOOK IN THIS INSTANCE TOOK A SHOT, AND LOST. NOW IT HAS CHOSEN TO STIFF THIS GUY. SHAME ON THEM.:neenee:

MAYBE JAY COHEN CAN COME IN AND COMMENT AS TO HOW THIS BOOK SHOULD RESPOND TO THIS COMPLAINT.

I have been reading along, not that it matters much, but I'll share my view. If bluegrass has 1 (one) time allowed this player to wager over $500 on a soccer match in the past over the internet and accepted the wager(s), win or lose, then they owe this poster every penny. I think it's crazy to think that a linesman was not aware of this wager before the game was over, so therefore we go to wagering 101. You book it, you pay it. Somebody at Bluegrass dropped the ball here and needs to stand up and be accountable. Have courage in the good times as well as the bad.

Your reasoning leads to absurdity:

1) If a book has a lousy software and no control of it and doesnt check the bets that come in during office hours.
2) And if a gambler is stupid enough to think the book knows what its doing.
3) then the book has the right to wait till the games are over and let all losing bets stand and cancel all winning wagers.

Right?

Look at Pinna and think again:

<TABLE borderColor=#ffffff cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 rules=all width="100%" border=2 frame=box><TBODY><TR class=wht-title bgColor=#999999><TD align=middle colSpan=3>Maximum Wager: </TD><TD class=wht-title align=middle bgColor=#999999>20000.00 USD</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

You can hit these 100 times if you wish.

okay lets get through all the points.

First Identity. He lives in a country where he cannot call? Its a toll-free number, I'm pretty sure you can use these numbers anywhere. Now were they monitoring what was going on? Maybe, probably. Who cares. I assume that they set up their software in this manner (where you can go over the limit) just to screw bettors who go over the limit. If the bettor wins they cancel the wagers above the limit, if not they take the money if it loses. Pretty smart although scandalous. They have the right to do so.

Why is everyone comparing the limit interpretation with Pinnacle. You are not playing at Pinnacle. Majority of books have a fixed limit. You must assume its a fixed limit. Did the line change 15+ times everytime you bet it? If not then how did you not believe you were going over the limit? What does the $500 limit mean to you, apparently nothing.

1. As I stated above, it is probably by design to take advantage of bettors
2. no comment
3. just part of the plan. You are at their mercy when you exceed the limit.

In a perfect world maybe the book should pay up but I'm not going to hold anything against the book if they don't.

You honestly felt you wouldn't run into problems when placing the same wager 15+ times?

MB,thought about this alot. There is a big difference between hitting a game twice at limits and 20 times. I know you are not a square and had to have some inkling that BG was not gonna be happy at you getting down for 10g on a sport where they have a 500 limit. And especially at an bad line. Granted the book also has responsibility to keep an eye on the purse strings. I guess the question is does a ... gambler have a right to stick it up a books ass when they see a glitch in the system? Don't know. I do know that personally, would not want a customer that does. Just my opinion. Also I will point out that BG has never backed off on paying big hits. They paid off some huge ATWs and never whined once. I can certainly understand their attitude here. I will now resign from this thread because I too, like BG and may be somewhat biased.
That's the plain truth. I would not blame BBG for taking a stand in this instance. The dude was clearly taking a shot. However, I'm still uncomfortable by the fact that they let the bets rest there for too long. But in the end, anything we think is just that, an opinion.

Yes he was CLEARLY taking a shot but I do agree that it could of been handled better on BG's side of the counter.

My thing is guys like this and Revere who place bets like this hurt us all in the end. Guys like these should be exposed to all sportsbooks to be on the lookout for them in the future.

In these situations I always ask myself would the book pay the player if he had lost?

I think probably not and therefore they should pay.

I'm currently in Costa Rica and visited bluegrass premises earlier today. What I find rather surprising is that the player failed to report that he had circumvented the limits on another bet. Even though the bet was graded as loss Bluegrass deleted it, saving the player approximately 4 dimes.

There is much more to the story that hasn't been posted by the player.

Posters including krackman say the player was taking a shot. Apparently they did not read his post. He said he made the multiple plays during normal working hours. He also spread the bets out giving the book hours to adjust the line. The player did not "circumvent" the rules as this book along with many others allow you to make multiple max wagers. Bluegrass was the one taking the shot as they stiffed the player after he won.

Chuck,

I have reviewed the play with my own eyes. Its not spread over several hours, its one single ticket containing 19 bets. Few minutes I'd say. The player has exploited a bug in Bluegrass software. The only way for him to get 19 plays at the same line was by creating a single ticket. This is a fact.
