Agreed - I like cleveland too.

I've been watching this pats team closely (like I do every year) and the win over Miami was just revenge for the sox blowing their lead over the yanks in the 7th game of the ALCS...

but in all seriousness - I still dont see how this pats team is keeping up, with the entire O line reshuffled due to injuries. I've been saying this for weeks now and I've been wrong every week but They HAVE TO BE DUE FOR A LETDOWN. I know that "due" theories don't hold up in court so chances are I'm full of crap.

Very tough spot for the Pats here,(let down city). They beat Miami for the first time ever in the months of Sept./Oct. and have Denver on Monday nite the next week in Den.

But I'll tellya somthing. This team may be better, smarter, and tougher than the super bowl team of 2 years ago...They have beaten Tenn.Giants, and Mia. 3 weeks in a row...With 8 or 9 starters out!!...every guy from this years draft has played.
Honestly though I'd pass on this one,may be a sloppy game from the Pats stand point.

LETDOWN CITY FOR THE PATS

I love the Pats, don't get me wrong but this week they are due for a letdown.

Why?

Bill Belichik gave the players a "well-deserved day off" today for the extra effort they put in last week.

The day off won't hurt the team in its preparation, but it's a signal from the coach saying, "This game doesn't matter as much."

If the coach feels this way about this week vs last week, will the players not have a similar mindset?

I BET THEY WILL and I BET WITH 6 FREE POINTS THAT THEY WILL

I see your point but to be honest they should have let down weeks ago...

It just hasnt panned out.

The team has too much momentum for me to put much on this one but I would use Cleveland with a 10 point tease or something.

The more I think about it - the more I think my "full of crap" theory (see above) may be the one to go with here.

The pats were due for a letdown a long time ago and now they are actually due for a win.

They will probably win by 7...

This looks like a letdown spot, and it probably is but only from a point standpoint. New england was not supposed to win last week, and its not like they were favoured and now they are getting uneccessary points. They will win in this spot, but by how much?. My local has em at -7.5 which is foolish on their part. It will probably drop though. I like cleveland at that number, 6.5 however is another story.

They got lucky against the giants at home in an inbetween game of AFC opponents. coming off the emotional road win I think Cleveland keeps this real close. New England's O is still not solid (see NYG game and Miami) - Cleveland has balance to keep it close. I'd love 6 but i think it will drop.

i admire the pats....a gutty team that knows how to win..even as banged up as they are..they were fortunate to pull a win out vs the g`ints...but,they do win...cleveland is one oddball of a team....they absolutely stink at home and play almost everyone life and death on the road....cleveland has real problems against top notch backs...that`s not really what the pats bring to the table...

post miami letdown?..and back on the road to denver next week.....i don`t see how the pats continue to get up for tough games week after week...a tough schedule so far......maybe they let up a little this week...

like the brownies plus the points...but,new england is tough...this club has some hard bark on `em...

Well, I am a biased pats fan here, but a couple things that work for them.

1. Bellicheck is facing his former team, so he may not allow a letdown.

2. Cleveland is pretty banged up. (though less than the pats)

3. Pats are perfect at home.

4. Bellicheck vs a QB who has been benched this year (both really) leading the leagues last ranked offense.

Not saying I love the patriots, but I would look deeper into this game, before I relied on the "let down factor" to push me the browns way.

Being a lifelong Browns fan, I tend not to bet their games since I usually can't make an objective judgement. The only times I bet on or against them is when I think there is a clear error in the line...like last year when they got 8.5 points in the Burgh in the playoffs, that was an easy call considering they'd only lost to the Steelers by 3 points both times they played them. In the Browns' 1999 expansion year, the Super Bowl favorite Rams were favored by 19 over the Browns and I pounded the Rams for what turned out to be an easy cover. I also took the Browns getting a TD at San Fran this year and they won outright. I can usually judge the pulse of the Brownies pretty well...and I think this is one of those weeks I'm going to bet on their game.

This week would be a good week to play the Browns +6 if you can find it...on the money line for 1 unit too. So far, they've beaten the Raiders and Steelers while losing to the Bengals and Chargers. They tend to play up or down to their competition, and this week I think they'll play up to it. They're 3-4 right now and do not want to go into the bye week under .500.

For whatever reason, the Browns are a much better team on the road than at home. Last year they finished with a 9-7 regular season record, but were 6-2 on the road (an NFL best if I'm not mistaken) and only 3-5 at home. That trend is continuing so far this season...2-1 on the road, but only 1-3 at home.

Courtney Brown has finally emerged from his cocoon and Gerard Warren is getting good push in the middle...and our 2nd year linebacking corp rounds into form. The Pats don't have a premier RB who can run all over us...so I think we'll do a pretty decent job of limiting the Pats running game.

The weak points of NE are the OL; 5th round rookie starting center, UDFA in about 3rd year starting at RT, and at LG (very average Andruzzi starting). The other two spots are very strong with Matt Light at LT and Damien Woody at RG (moved from C when the RG got hurt). There are some weak spots here that can be taken advantage of...and I think Courtney Brown will get a couple of sacks this week.

This game is sandwiched in between two important games for the Pats...couple that with some injuries, and I think the Browns are going to win outright...
