Furman vs Virginia on 03/16 by Mike_Jones

I can't imagine that Furman's defense outperforms the Miami and Pittsburgh defenses -- these two ACC teams resemble Furman in not being too long and applying ball pressure -- that held Virginia to around 65 points on their home floor. A Paladin defense that gave up over 90 points to its one previous ACC opponent will struggle against Virginia's relentless array of cuts and off-ball screens. Meanwhile, Furman's offense hasn't seen anything like Virginia's pack-line defense. The Hoos' defense, as well as its offense, can match up against Furman's small ball. While the Virginia offense scores a lot of easy baskets inside, its quickness on defense will stymy Furman's attempts at achieving dribble penetration and at creating three-point shooting opportunities.
