This morning the news said it had weakened to a cat3 storm?

Keeps creeping west and weakening ... CAT 3 now and even if it strengthens some from Cuba to the Keys it will be very strong but not as strong as first predicted.

The biggest problem will be the storm surge on the southwest corner up to Tampa area
