Been cashing in nicely and tracking this league all season long every Friday afternoon. Thought I would share some winners with everyone from this wacky high scoring league. All matches start in less than an hour at 2 Eastern time. Heres what I am playing today:

are you aware of these strange modus they are playing in this league with the 6 game periods...it s the strangest thing i came across, but maybe there is some money to be made off it.

At the end of each season, the champion of the Jupiler League (named also Eerste Division) is automatically promoted to the Eredivisie. Eight other clubs enter the promotion/relegation playoffs that includes the 16th- and 17th-place clubs in the Eredivisie. The following teams qualify for the promotion/relegation playoffs:

The club with the best record in the “first period” of the season (after 6 rounds).
The club with the best record in the “second period” of the season (rounds 7-12).
The club with the best record in the “third period” of the season (rounds 13-18).
The club with the best record in the “fourth period” of the season (rounds 19-24).
The club with the best record in the “fifth period” of the season (rounds 25-30).
The club with the best record in the “sixth period” of the season (rounds 31-36).
The two remaining spots are filled at the season’s end by the highest-placed clubs that have not already earned automatic promotion or qualified for the playoffs.

If the club that wins a period has qualified for the playoffs by winning a previous period, its place is filled by the next-best club in that period that has not already qualified. Usually, the clubs that qualify for the playoffs turn out to be the 2nd- through 9th-placed clubs in the final table. Clubs in the playoffs face each other in a knock-out system with the numbers 16 and 17 of the Eredivisie for two places in next season’s Eredivisie.
From the 2008/2009 season onwards, one team will be relegated from the Eerste Divisie (Jupiler League) to the Hoofdklasse (the main amateur league and the third tier of Dutch football). Hoofdklasse clubs will be able to get promoted to the Eerste Divisie from the 2009/2010 season onwards, although the exact structure is not known yet. The KNVB wants to introduce an intermediate level, called Topklasse.

Wow I did not know this and also this is so damn confusing. I am having trouble understanding what they mean by rounds and periods. :think2:

sorry i couldnt come back earlier...my understand is that there is always a period of 6 games with it s own standings.
matchday 1-6, matchday 7-12, matchday 13-18 and so on...
after 6 games everybody starts from scratch again with 0 points. every winner of such a 6 game period is qualified for a later promotion play-off + some more teams from overall standings.

so sittard will have a big motivation to finish off next 3 games very strong although they are in mids of overall table.

iam just not sure if the overall standing has still implication for already qualified teams..for example for the seeding in the play-offs.
otherwise a team qualified on matchday 1-6 could quit playing for reminder of regular season and start playing in play-offs.
