OK, so I am 4-8 to start the year, but I am not giving up that easily.
Fresno State (+8')
The home team is 9-1 ATS in this series.
The Bulldogs are 10-4 ATS versus the Pac-10. Very few Pac-10 teams will play Fresno in a home and home and Pat Hill likes to take out his aggression on the Pac-10 clubs and prove a point to them.
Fresno is 6-0 ATS as a HD under Hill. This looks like the same situation as last year when Fresno stumbled to a 2-3 start out of the gate and were hosting ranked Colorado State on a Friday night game. Fresno was a home dog and beat Colorado State outright. I see the same thing tonight as Oregon State is only 1-8 ATS their last 9 as a road favorite. Fresno is also 13-7 ATS at home with revenge.
OSU QB Derek Anderson is very overrated. He put up big numbers against weak comp LY when he threw for an average of 329 ypg with 12 TDs and 0 INT's in the 1st 3 games (E Kentucky, @ Temple, UNLV). Then he threw for 204.6 ypg (38% comp pct) with an 8-12 TD-INT ratio when he played tough competition, including a banged-up Fresno team LY. Anderson only completed 9-for-20 LY against the Dawgs.
I think people are making too much of the anemic offensive performance versus Tennessee in front of that big crowd. UT is much better than most think.
Pat Hill will have Fresno ready and rocking tonight.
