76ers vs Hornets

5* NBA Free Pick Under

The Charlotte Hornets breezed past the 76ers in a 100-85 win in Philadelphia Tuesday, and I think we'll see another low-scoring contest when the two teams match up in Charlotte Friday night.

Each of the Philadelphia 76ers last five games have gone under the total and the under is 4-0 in 76ers last four road games. They're losers of 10 in a row and are playing without big men Jahlil Okafor and Nerlens Noel, both out with knee injuries which definitely hurts their offense.

The Hornets set a club record for victories in a month with a 13-3 March. Jeremy Lin sat out Tuesday's win against Philly with a sore back and will likely be a game-time decision. The Hornets have played very solid defense lately and the under is 4-0 in their last four home games.

I don't see Hornets relax just yet as they're only 1 1/2 games back of Atlanta for the No. 3 seed in the East and tied with Miami for the No. 4 seed. I wouldn't count on them doing much more than enough to get a win here though with a matchup against the Cavs on Sunday, so I expect a relatively even low-scoring game.

Morehead State vs Nevada

Bonus Play Nevada

I'm recommending a play on Nevada minus the points on Friday night. We passed game one of the CBI championship series, but came back with Nevada in game two. The Wolf Pack led comfortably for the first 13 minutes of the second half, leading by double digits for several minutes before nearly giving away the lead late in the game. However, the Wolf Pack regrouped and once again extended the lead, finishing with a 77-68 win and cover. Nevada has been outstanding at home, possessing a 15-3 SU mark after Wednesday's win. They're on an 8-1 SU run in Reno, and have covered 10 of the last 11. We mentioned in the analysis on Wednesday that Nevada averages over 24 FTA per home game, while Morehead State has seen their hosts average over 26 FTA on the season. The Pack finished game two with 42 FTA for the game. They made just 27, or 64%, which is well below their season average of 73%. We also pointed out that Nevada has played well on the defensive end, ranked 26th in FG percentage allowed and 81st against the trey. Meanwhile, Morehead State has allowed their hosts to make over 46% of their FGA, while the Eagles are shooting less than 42% on the road. Nevada puts four players in double figures in scoring per game and Cameron Oliver cleans the glass, pulling down 11 rebounds on Wednesday night. The Wolf Pack have covered five straight and I expect a win and cover here. I'm recommending a play on Nevada minus the points on Friday. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.

Raptors vs Grizzlies

1* Bonus Play Toronto Raptors

This number seems a little low doesn’t it? Toronto still has a shot at overtaking Cleveland in the Eastern Conference with eight games remaining, but faces a tough schedule to finish the season. First up though is the scuffling Grizzlies, a perfect team to make a statement against. The Raptors sit six games clear of third-place Atlanta after beating the Hawks 105-97 on Wednesday: “We are not satisfied with just 50 wins," explained Toronto guard Kyle Lowry after the win over the Hawks. "It's a great benchmark to get, but at the end of the day we still want to be playing as long as possible, as close as possible to the end of the whole NBA season." While some clubs strategically rest players or take the foot off the gas at this time of year, Toronto sounds like a team that’s determined to keep playing at a high level right through to the end of the regular season. Memphis was hit early by a slew of injuries and has continued to spiral down the proverbial crapper as the season has progressed. It’s coming off its fourth straight loss in a 109-105 setback to Denver on Wednesday. The Grizzlies are now just 2-8 their last ten. Toronto held Memphis to just 3 of 20 from behind the arc in a 98-95 home win on February 21st, but we think all signs point to a much bigger blowout today. Consider a second look at the RAPTORS in this one.

76ers vs Hornets

Play - Philadelphia 76ers

Edges - Sixers: 3-0 ATS in this series from Game 76 out when off a loss of 9 or more points; and 6-1 ATS versus opponent off BB wins, the last by double-digits, this season. Hornets: 0-6 SUATS off BB SUATS wins versus a foe off a loss this season. With Charlotte looking dead ahead to a revenge rematch with Cleveland, and having just defeated the 76ers in Philly Wednesday night, we recommend a 1* play on Philadelphia. Thank you and good luck as always.
