Prado) ML 5-2 has been lightly raced over her career, but she’s certainly made the best of her opportunities, winning five of her seven career starts including two Grade I races around two turns at Belmont, earning the Eclipse Award as best three year-old filly last year. Today she returns for her 2006 season with a stroll down memory lane, sprinting for the first time since her debut as a juvenile in 2004. She won that race and has been working forwardly for her race today. SMUGGLER has never been on an off-track but her pedigree as a granddaughter of noted off-track sire Fappiano says that mud should pose no problem for the champion. Even if this is simply a prep race for the filly, her five-for-seven record portends that she may win even if she isn’t truly meant to win.
