Another tiara tarnished?
A former Miss USA - who's since made a name in soap operas and sitcoms - is raising eyebrows with a racy career change.
Kelli McCarty, a Kansas native who won the crown in 1991, played the part of "Beth" on the NBC soap opera "Passions."
But after her character was killed off in a freak train explosion in 2006, McCarty apparently left daytime television to play an onscreen lady of the night.
The actress and ex-beauty queen has just completed work on a pornographic film titled "Faithless," according to TMZ.com.
"I enjoy acting, and I really like sex ... so this was the perfect opportunity to combine two of my passions," McCarty said.
McCarty now works for the company Vivid Entertainment and "Faithless" is set for release Feb. 4th, 2009.
McCarty is not the first beauty queen to besmirch the pristine pageant title, in fact, that circuit has produced several beautiful bad girls.
Former Miss Nevada USA Katie Rees lost her title in 2006 after scandalous photos surfaced on the Internet showing her kissing another woman and exposing her breasts.
But the trouble didn't end there for Rees. She was arrested and charged with assualting a police officer after a traffic stop in Las Vegas in Febuary 2008.
Another case involved 25-year-old Arizona beauty queen Kumari Fulbright. Fulbright, a law school student, competed for the Miss Arizona title in 2005 and 2006.
In Decemeber 2007, she was arrested for allegedly holding her ex-boyfriend captive for 10 hours while robbing and torturing him.
And, of course, who can forget "Ugly Betty" star and former Miss America Vanessa Williams?
After some racy photos made it to the pages of Penthouse Magazine, Williams refused to be embarrassed any further and forfeited her crown in 1984.
