The spread is out of control. While everybody is talking about Florida's roster depletion, don't forget that backups will be motivated to try to earn starter roles in a team where many players are leaving for other teams or the NFL Draft.
One player who is not opting out is defensive tackle Gervon Dexter, who is known for his run defense and will be a key player against Oregon State's run-heavy offense.
Indeed, the Gators' run defense is largely intact.
While Florida misses its starting quarterback, I think this is a good thing because he is so inaccurate.
The Gators, like Oregon State, rely on a superb ground attack.
Whereas Florida tends to struggle against mobile quarterbacks -- which Oregon State does not have -- the Beavers have struggled against the Pac-12's strongest running backs.
Florida with its top-level running back duo will pose a unique challenge to the Beavers' rush attack.
