The NHL's preseason schedule is underway. The Toronto Maple Leafs played Jokerit in Finland on Tuesday and it didn't take long for newly-acquired centre Joe Nieuwendyk to make an initial impression with his club. The veteran scored his first preseason goal in the first period as the Leafs defeated the Finnish club 5-3 in an exhibition game in Helsinki.
