there`s some absolutely shitty reporting on many of the boxing websites on the net...when i read some stuff regarding the questionnable reffing in the fight,i finally came up with an article that explained alot.....not saying peden wouldn`t have won anyway.....
but,the fight wasn`t as cut and dried as many crappy articles led us to believe....
..looks like homefield advantage did play a reasonably significant part in robbie`s victory...i`ve read on several boards that the bad cut initially caused in the 4th was likely from a headbutt and changed the tide of the fight.....

In the time since, Campbell had been talking smack to the extent where he said he was going to make Peden, get this, “Brain Dead” if he had the opportunity. It was comments of this vein which made this contest even more of a “Must Win” situation for both men, especially Robbie who didn’t take to such talk lightly.

Both fighters made there way to the ring, with Campbell on the receiving end of a thunderous round of boos, jeers, what you’d expect considering his pre-fight rants and the like. In stark contrast, and obviously not unexpectedly, Peden received a reception from his compatriots that almost raised the roof on the Vodafone Arena. You can sense the genuine anxiety that was in the air as musical renditions of both anthems were played and finally completed, the action got under way.

I must say from the get go, that I predicted Campbell to best Peden over 12 hard fought rounds. In the first three sessions of battle, my prediction looked to be right on track with Campbell using his superior reach to box well behind a long, left jab. The loudmouth from Florida was seemingly doing a lot more of what he wanted to do, vs. that of Peden.
CAMPBELL STARTS TO LOSE DIRECTION!
The fourth round proved to be the turning point of the fight. A large cut opened up over Campbell’s right eye, with a punch ruled to be the cause of the crimson flow. Nate Campbell vigorously protested that the cause of the wound, the culprit according to Nate was Peden’s head. But this fell on deaf ears and Campbell’s sense of urgency was now raised a few notches. He had to be thinking that if he could not knock Peden out, that his long awaited title shot would be for naught, as the belt would be handed to the Aussie.
NATE NOT AVOIDING, PEDEN SENSED AN OPPORTUNITY
Campbell’s change of tactics backfired. All it really did was to bring Peden into the fight. Forgetting initially to box behind and utilize his jab, Peden now was the one who began to box quite effectively, whilst countering Campbell’s careless advances with precision and success. This was coupled with Campbell becoming increasingly fatigued. By the end of the seventh stanza, the momentum has swung clearly from Campbell to Peden.
THE “CUT FACTOR” BECOMES A GREAT LIABILITY!
The action was halted four times for the ringside Dr. to inspect the always-worsening cut. And at the end of that seventh round, the Doctor took it upon himself to have long conversation with both Campbell and his trainer. And by the way that Campbell started off the eighth heat, you might suspect that he was told he had one more round to get it done or the contest would be halted.
NATE FOUGHT KNOWING HE HAD BUT THREE MINUTES!
Going for broke, Campbell came out looking to land a bomb, but was unsuccessful. With time ticking away, Peden caught the nearly exhausted Campbell on the ropes and unloaded a volley of punches which prompted Referee Johnny Wright to call a halt to the action, with the official time coming at 2:53 of round eight. Peden improves to 25-2, with 14 KO’s. Campbell declines to 25-3, (17 KO’s). """""""""""""
