i like kemp, and ethier (sometimes, and not at right field). i had the perfect solution to all of your problems like 2 months ago before victor martinez got traded to the sox. they should have given up loney, martin and a couple of prospects to get martinez and a pitcher from cleveland. hell they could have gotten cliff lee if they gave up there best two prospects(they gave up one anyways to get sheril) but if they make that trade they have v. martinez behind the plate (big step up from martin). you put ethier at 1st (hes a lefty and played there before, plus thats a giant step up from loney) then you put peirre in right (that way hes happy and we get his bat/speed everyday). my honest opinion is that if they made that trade from martinez and lee they would have contended for the world series, but now they have no chance of even making it to the world series
hno:i mean im not a genius but even i figured out how much better that line up would have been. all the best players get to play nad you get a perfect mix of speed/power/average. and even if you give up 4 or 5 players to get them its worth it. plus they could still have gotten thome,sherill,belliard, and garland of they wanted to since they gave up no name prospects that will never be great players. sherill is the only player they actually gave something up for. just my opinion but i really think someone iin the dodgers head office should have thought about that
i actually get what torres doing right now. he just got a bunch of players and he does need to know a little about them before its playoff time. its the front office that im mad at. its not often that gettign one of two players can greatly impact a team, and they need to capitalize on those possibilities. as a fan id much rather have 2 very good players like lee and martinez and one good players and 3 average players (thome is a HOFer but he doesnt mean a whole lot to a NL team where he only gets one at bat a game)
ya im with you jordan. if he was playing for loney i would be all for it. but y get him when we already have a very consistant DH in pierre. i mean thome is a geat player and a future HOFer. i completely agree with getting him if its only to deepen the bench, and your not paying a lot for it. but it seems like there getting a whole lot of average players to play the same position. instead of getting a couple greta/very good players to play different positions. i should be in hte damn head office for the dodgers, i swear i could help them get better lol
