MONTERREY, Mexico (AFP) - A Mexican tipping the scales at 560 kilograms (1,234 pounds) will be listed as the world's fattest man by the Guinness Book of Records, while a loss of 200 kilos (440 pounds) may make him the man who lost the most weight.

Whenever I see someone like this, I always wonder....

HOW THE F*CK DO YOU GET LIKE THIS??

I mean seriously, at exactly what point in time does a person make the decision to dedicate the rest of their life to staying in bed and getting as fat as possible?

This IS an intentional decision, is it not? This does not happen by accident. It does not suddenly happen over night with no fair warning.

This takes iron clad, disciplined dedication to the highest degree to become that fat and to keep on going to the point of not being able to even walk across the room.

And then, the second thing I always wonder when I see someone like this is....

WHO THE F*CK ARE THE SICK PEOPLE THAT ENABLE THIS BEHAVIOR??

It's not like this fat bastard could sustain himself alone. There are people who pay the rent, pay the bills, bring him his 2 tons of plankton per day and clean the sheets every time he gives birth to a bowel movement.

Who in the hell would enable such behavior? Here's an idea....stop feeding the guy! I mean, this also was an intentional decision that was made by the person or people who are waiting on this guy like endentured servants.

How do you let this happen? Why didn't they do something the first time he refused to get out of bed? Again, this did not happen over night or by accident. It's not like, "Gee, I have no idea how he got so big. One day he just decided to go into his bedroom and then the next day he was the size of a full grown sea cow."

This shit really puzzles me and pisses me off.

I was thinking that same thing. This guy couldnt have a job and clearly cant go get his own food or even get out of bed without help.

Hell yeah he's depressed. Or at least he is depressed now. He's depressed he will never see the light of day again. He's depressed he will never see his penis again, let alone have sex with a woman.

Look, I would never make fun of something like depression. And I am sure that depression has something to do with it, at the start, half-way through or at the end or whatever. But this took A LONG TIME to get that way. Wouldn't someone have a clear thought or a notion to stop the insanity at some point along the way? I don't care how depressed you are, there's no excuse for this or for others allowing this. They should have stopped feeding him, kicked him out of bed, gotten him a shrink, stopped changing the shit-stained sheets, or whatever.

Because they're sick too. Emotionally sick. People like this should be locked up for the harm they are doing to the health of such an individual. The people who feed him don't have the self-respect of themselves to say no.

The same way with drugs, alcohol, gambling.. For some people food is their one and only friend. I feel bad for the guy and I'm not here to take up for him but you cant judge the guy until you walked in his shoes.

I hear you on this topic, I really do. And I even see the similar comparison with drugs, alcohol and gambling. But here's the difference: drugs, alcohol and gambling are a bit easier to hide. You can't hide this. It is right there in plain view sight for everyone to see and know. The dude doesn't move from his bed. And people are helping him to stay there and contributing to the problem knowingly.

I don't mean to come across as totally insensitive, but there's no excuse for this. Sure, this guy could have a whole bunch of problems, been dealt the worst hand life has to offer, etc., etc. But there's just no excuse or rational explanation for this.....not for what he has done to himself or what others have helped him do.

They have shows about people like this on the Discovery Channel every once in a while. the family that assist in this sad life are always extremely overweight as well, but not as bad, they always seem to live in low income situations and are never really the educated kind. its sad yet interesting how this possibly can get to such an extent. does anyone wonder how they can possibly afford that much food?????? even with govt assistance???? it looks like they make enough food in one day that we make in one week. it has to be more than 400 a week in food!
