Big money weekend..can wait to see the race.

"The crowds and spending are expected to surpass Miami’s 2020 Super Bowl and its annual Art Basel festival, according to local officials. Miami’s top hotels are charging more than $100,0000 a night for their top suites. Chefs are offering special dinners for $3,000 a plate, and night clubs are bringing in top DJs with tables going for up to $100,000 a night".

I'm not a fan but it looks really cool. Tickets are crazy high. They are expecting Sheiks to attend this event and other royalty.

I know a guy who was working security on this and he had showed me some of the pics as they were building the track.

gonna be a fun and crazy expensive weekend for those who participate

I've worked at a few events..it's tough to tell what is happening on the course if you actually attend the race..I like it better on TV . I sorta got re-hooked because of "Drive to survive" on Netflix..
It's a pretty interesting Documentary type show.

Course view 2 min 45 seconds in.
Looks like a course you can pass cars on..good for the fans and my biggest problem with the sport, old boring circuits where cars get locked.

The stadium is a good 20-30 min drive from south beach but yes, south beach will be nuts. There should be many other places in South Florida (like the hard rock) that should be nuts as well.

I have both soccer and baseball on saturday (both local) and then will be at a party in Boca Sat nite so i wont be anywhere near all of this

The wife has to take a trip to both Miramar and Pembroke Pines and where she is going, it will have nothing to do with the crowds

Would love to be there

Do the Derby, then the Grand Prix, how cool would that be (either one would be pretty special)

I had a friend go on Friday (posted pics on FB) and send it was really awesome. He brought his wife and kids and it was like attending the super bowl experience but F1 style.

I have another friend who has a 2 day pass (yesterday and today). I will see him tomorrow nite and excited to hear all about it.

one thing though: it has been hot as shit down here this weekend

It's fun...although again once the race starts it gets confusing unless you're near a screen.
Race coverage starts here in a second ..cooling vests but not much the drivers can do but endure the heat.

Love to see Mercedes get the bounce in the car worked out today...
