I love to gamble on sports. The problem I have is that I don't do well capping my own games. I do not have the time it takes to cap games nor the expertise.

A friend shared this site with me and and have been following it for the last month. And I could not believe that there are cappers out there with the talent of some here sharing their picks and knowledge for free. What a great site. I have a few goals sports betting

1st. To have fun
2nd. Make some money ( more fun to win than lose)
3rd. To learn a little about capping

If there is someone, that could show me a money management strategy so I can wither some bad streaks and ride the hot streaks. Does anyone have a spreadsheet that I could track my bets? How many games should I play a day? I know this will differ on how many games there are, but I love college hoops and have been following Kapusta, Micelli and Action. I have been picking and choosing usually the wrong side. Should I pick one capper and follow all of his bets and hope the fall around a 58% win precentage, I don't need to pick a game to enjoy it. Winning generally does that

In the end, I just need some advice on how to become a successful sports better.

To all that repsond thank you in advance

I'll try to address a few of your questions. First as for money management, you should try to set aside a specific bankroll for gambling only, regardless of size. Second, since you seem relatively new to wagering, you should not wager more then 1% of that bankroll on any one play. Thus, if your bankroll is $1000, you shouldn't bet more then $10 per game. If you don't wish to bet a percentage of your bankroll, then use a flat dollar amount close to 1% of the bankroll. As for the number of games, you should try to be selective in order to protect your bankroll. There is no right or wrong number of plays, but try not to bet too many each day as tomorrow is another day and another opportunity. As far as tracking your bets, if your computer has Windows Excel, that could be set up to track your bets. It is important to track your plays to know how you are doing. Keeping good records is fundamental toward helping you gain success. As for following any handicappers, my recommendation would be to try and follow one only that has proven himself to you. If you use too many, you may end up missing winning plays and betting losing plays. Finally, be realistic about expected results. The very best handicappers hit 53-54% over the long haul. Hitting 58% can be done in the short term or even for a season but not long term. Check the Hoops Forums as well as the Tracker Forum and be careful when selecting who you will follow. Best of luck to you and welcome to the RX.

It's best just to bet the same on every game. All of these games can be so close, you just have to bet the same and hope you hit 53% or whatever. Anyone who suggests betting more when winning, less when losing, etc. has no clue.

Buddy try getting some cash together and maybe a partner and start taking bets. If you do this correctly you will win year after year. Best of luck to you

Low betting percentage....

Why is everyone so against betting high percentages?

If you can win 55%+ of your bets, every year, which is very possible...

why only wager 1-5%?

Why not wager about 10-14% per game? As long as you maintain a win rate higher than 52%, and are betting the same percentage on every game, and don't plays TONS of games a day....at the very most, 2, you will make tons.

I wager 7-19% per day, depending on how strong the plays I have are.....and have not lost my bankroll in 7 years. Making profit every year.

That's all you need. Discipline, a strong heart and stomach (to be able to deal with the down times...obviously, wagering up to 19% a day, will put a big dent in your bankroll after a few losses), and a basic win rate, a little over 50%.

And, here's a little secret....winning 60% of the time is possible....but, not if you're playing 5-6 games a day.

:)

Hope some of this helped.

Ps. Don't pay for services that charge more than 2% of your bankroll. If your service charges $500 a month, then, your bankroll should be $25k or higher, to make it worth it.

If you and a bunch of friends, basically follow all teams, in all sports, and feel you're good enough....group up, and make your own calls. You can still get a good win rate, with just a bunch o friends.

I'd love to read your e-book if you don't mind sending it to me ! I'm a newbie on these forums as well and I'm looking to learn a thing or two about capping.

I don't agree with this at all. In fact, I doubt many pros or even high end amatures bet the same on every game. There are some games that are stronger plays than others. It is kind of like card counting, you bet high when the odds are in your favor. I do agree with not betting more just because you won the day before. Bet amounts should depend on the strength of the game.
