Even the Tiger haters have to admit golf is not the same without him

Keymer has a 7 shot lead and it's looking like another boring Major. If these afternoon golfers don't make a move on him today I may not even watch this weekend.

yea at this point I might even welcome some "Tiger drama " Kaymer is on cruise control at this point

I can't remember watching any event based on who else is watching it...that makes no sense to me

100% incorrect... who cares about the ratings.. I'm watching the tournament, that's all that matters

The US Open, CBS, golf in general..they care.

Die hard golf people will watch. To say Tiger not being there doesn't matter is incorrect. I'm glad you will enjoy it still.

Golf can only blame themselves and their media machine.

Tiger had the great amateur success and was unique enough that the media could take hold and "blow" him so out of proportion. Way overrated in terms of his constantly being compared to Jack. What "Tiger was going to accomplish" was far overstated and had very little chance of coming to pass.

Glad his wife did not kill him with the seven iron though. No doubt she wanted to!

Like I said , who cares about the networks and the ratings..It would only bother me if the tournament wasn't on to watch..

It's bad when it's not even Friday afternoon and all of my golf bets are already dead. It's a good thing I won on the Spurs last night or I would be hurting. These Americans need to get off their asses and start playing better. They haven't won their own national championship for a few years now...

Luckily for me I have most of my plays with props.. 6 teamer that pays over 3/1 with Phil, Scott, Rory, Rose, Spieth, & Stenson to make the cut is my key play

I do still have Stenson. But I haven't seen an update on his score. I'm assuming he's still at least 10 shots back...

Well 10 years from now when the only golf you are going to get to see from a major is the back 9 on Sunday thats when people like you are going to care.
Viewership determines how much and the quality of coverage an event gets.

All of this directv all 4 day from thursday to sunday coverage you get now will all go away in the future if the ratings start tanking.
So yes, if I were you I would care.
Neworks are not going to cater to such a small faction of people forever.

The less people watch, the coverage both quality and quantity you are going to get starts going down.

There is a reason you can't watch women's field hockey on TV right now.
Thats because nobody cares.
If 50 million people enjoyed watching women's field hockey it would be on every channel.

As people quit watching golf, networks will quit covering it to the extent that they are covering it.

Once that starts happening I bet you will start caring then.

Before Tiger Woods you would not be watching the US Open on Thursday at 9AM because they use to not televise Thursdays at 9am.

After Tiger Woods if people quit watching eventually you will not be able to watch on Thursdays at 9AM again.

Yes it will.
Read my last post.

I won't lose any sleep over it... Going to keep watching my events that are being shown like I always have and not spend anytime worrying about the ratings. If others want to spend time on the ratings knock yourself out...

You are missing the point, if the ratings go in the shitter you won't be able to see as many events as you do now. Not trying to argue but you aren't being logical.

Look at hockey for example it used to be on ESPN, ABC, etc. Since no one watches it anymore you have to catch hockey every once in awhile and sportscenter barely covers the events anymore. To say ratings won't affect you is flat out wrong.

I'm not going to sweat out what may or may not be on TV in the future. What good is it going to do me to worry about it ?. I'm sure there will be plenty of sports to watch... If not I won't fall apart.. my point is, I'm not going to sit around worrying about it , like some of you are... If that's illogical, so be it.. I'm watching the US Open because its on... If its not on I would find something else to do. Not sure what there is to argue about with my posts ? I also refuse to worry about the end of the world or getting old some day......
