Like I said , who cares about the networks and the ratings..It would only bother me if the tournament wasn't on to watch..
Well 10 years from now when the only golf you are going to get to see from a major is the back 9 on Sunday thats when people like you are going to care.
Viewership determines how much and the quality of coverage an event gets.
All of this directv all 4 day from thursday to sunday coverage you get now will all go away in the future if the ratings start tanking.
So yes, if I were you I would care.
Neworks are not going to cater to such a small faction of people forever.
The less people watch, the coverage both quality and quantity you are going to get starts going down.
There is a reason you can't watch women's field hockey on TV right now.
Thats because nobody cares.
If 50 million people enjoyed watching women's field hockey it would be on every channel.
As people quit watching golf, networks will quit covering it to the extent that they are covering it.
Once that starts happening I bet you will start caring then.
Before Tiger Woods you would not be watching the US Open on Thursday at 9AM because they use to not televise Thursdays at 9am.
After Tiger Woods if people quit watching eventually you will not be able to watch on Thursdays at 9AM again.
