Euro 2008: Is there any possible way Germany doesn't win Group B?

I see that the odds for Germany to win Group B are at -135. They face Croatia, Poland and Austria. Austria is a host team so they are there by virtue of that. Neither Poland nor Croatia are powerhouses.

Can anyone think of a reason these 2 teams might possibly beat Germany? Will the Germans perhaps be distracted and not be serious enough to win here?

To be quite honest, I'm taking Croatia to win group B. I think they are going to be the surprise side of the tournament and I'm thinking of putting a small wager on them winning the whole thing, even though they are missing Eduardo Da Silva, I think this may help motivate the players more to dedicate the tournament to him. No way Poland or Austria win the group, so in my eyes its either Germany or Croatia.

Good point Webby. I was hoping to get some discussion on the other groups as well. Portugal is up against the Czech Republic, Switzerland (the other host country) and Turkey. You can get Portugal at +145 at TheGreek.

I was also looking at Spain at +115. They play against Greece, Sweden and Russia.

The Czecks might be missing several key players due to injuries or bad form recently,that nakes Portugal even stronger to be a group winner.Germany and Spain should both end as Group winners,the only group in question is the one with Italy/France/Holland/Romania.As far as Croetia goes,just as ex Jogoslavia and Spain for that matter,when it comes to winning the title,they had the talent many times in the past and almost always failed to deliver,don't see it any differently this time,something in the mentality there cause them to fail when reaching the real moment.

I would wait with placing these bets,plenty of times ahead,got to see line ups first ,no injuries etc'if all remain same lines wont change much till kick off for group winners props etc'

I like Portugal and Croatia to win their groups but of course no one can bet these until after regular seasons. If Ronaldo were to get injured obviously Portugal are not so enticing.
