Any of us that lived at the time of the Michael Jordan "flu game" really don't need the 2nd hand account, whether it was from his trainer, what Jordan thinks, or an account in a documentary from a director or producer's angle. We heard the reports before and after the game first hand. It's not like "the last dance" is some end-all-be-all. I remember watching a documentary on Bonnie and Clyde when I was 14 that had me convinced they were like Robin Hood, instead of the cold blooded killers that they were (my father gave me an earful on that one and completely flipped out on my perception of them based on a documentary).
The fact of the matter is the decision to play in that game was Michael Jordan's. And it was believed he had the flu. If Phil Jackson said he was not going to let Jordan play because he was concerned he might give one of the other players the flu, the only one that would have been accused of being selfish would have been Jackson and there would have been complete outrage. I don't recall any Bulls fans (or basketball fans in general...except maybe the Jazz fans) wanting Jordan to sit out because of an infectious disease. The story was the game as it should have been with the Dodgers winning the World Series.
