I've had some good success betting soccer over the last couple years and want to start a thread posting my plays. Hopefully we can all profit on a little futbol.

Almost all plays will be to win 1 unit - in my case $100. I don't play totals as often as sides, but occasionally will when I see fit. GL.

3/29/2012 Europa League

Atletico Madrid -220 to win 1 Unit.

I think this line is suspiciously low, but considering this is a tournament the line seems fairly reasonable. I like Atletico in this matchup against Hannover, as Atletico not only have more talent on their side but they have by far the best player on the pitch in Columbian goal scorer, Falcao. He continues to impress and dominate wherever he goes, and should be making a big money signing this upcoming summer. Atletico are bolstered by the return of Diego and Thiago, and should have plenty of firepower to take this first leg, despite their recent poor run in form. Give me the better talent, with the best player on the pitch at home. GL.

"Victory snatched from the jaws of defeat!"

We'll take it anyway we can and give nothing back. Wonderful goal from Salvio to win it at the death. Atletico should have had a penalty imo when Falcao's bicycle kick got handled by the defender. Good sweat and win @)

Sorry for the late post, but I forgot I was actually posting my plays on RX.

Manchester City -1.5 goals @ -145

To win 1 Unit.

GL.

Kompany is finally truly fit, and I cannot see Sunderland getting a goal this game. City have employed two strikers this game and will certainly need all three points to keep up with their Manchester rivals. I see a lopsided scoreline in favor of City with Balotelli and Dzeko getting on the scoresheet.

Poor loss earlier with Man City, all credits to Sunderland as that was the best game i've seen them play in a long time. Martin O'neil has made a world of difference.

Lineups are out for Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao, and despite Xavi and Puyol on the bench (AC Milan coming midweek) I think Barca will destroy a tired Bilbao side at the Nou Camp. Bilbao played on Thursday in Europe and are sitting both Llorrente and Munian. They clearly don't expect to compete in this contest. I'll take the best team with the best player on the planet to crush.

Barcelona -2.5 goals @ -120 to win 1 unit

YTD: 1-1 (-.45 units)

Tough to cover 3 goals in a tie, Barcelona had a myraid of chances and can't dwell too much on it. Need to bounce back.

Newcastle United @ +185 risking .6 Units

YTD 1-2 (-1.65 units)

you must be drinking 'the wops' kool aid...i genuinely hope u nail this....i just have a very hard time seeing the bloody side of manchester giving up pts.@ewood today....cheers

Thanks, I hope I win this too.

I'm actually a Man Utd fan (Based on your Kun statement you must be a City supporter), but this has always been an extremely difficult fixture. In their last 7 games at Ewood Park, Utd have one twice, loss once and drawn 4 times. De Gea has had his ups and downs this season, but despite his recent form he still looks nervy on crosses. I fully expect him to flap at a few of Pederson's outswinging crosses and Yakubu and Hoilet are no push overs in the box. I just think this is a great value on the draw @ +360 and worth a bet.

EDIT: Also, the football god's wouldn't want this title race to get out of hand now would they :)

I have April 30th circled on my calendar.

Not surprised either as Utd took the match in typical fashion late on. They were running Blackburn ragged throughout the game and tired legs leads to tired minds. Still worth it at the price imo, and Blackburn certainly deserved more out of the match than a 2-0 loss.

Understood completely. Surrounding and intimdating the referee is extremely disrespectful and players demanding cards be shown to the opposition shows a complete lack of class. Fabregas leaving only makes RVP seem that much more like a hero to the Gooner faithful.

I think Milan will get rolled over in this game as evidenced by my confidence in Barca. Away from the San Siro they are very shaky, and the pitch in the first leg was a joke, Messi slipped an easy 3-4 times in crucial spots.
