Finally back to EPL instead of the cup games. Here's what I like tomorrow:
Man United -1.5
Newcastle
Man United are rolling right now. Not only do they have Ronaldo in offense, but Wayne Rooney is also back. It only took him 10 minutes in the FA cup game against Aston Villa to score, so I expect him to get the start tomorrow. With the weeklong rest, United should be fielding Ronaldo, Tevez and Rooney up front. That is way too much offense for a struggling Newcastle defence to handle. Not only that, but Newcastle just fired their coach! Last time this happened was when Mourinho got canned at Chelsea, and the result was a piss poor performance against Man United. Martins will be able to play for Newcastle, and I'm sure Smith will play with emotion against his former teammates, but it won't be enough. On top of that, Newcastle have never won a game at Old Trafford in the Premier League era, and Man United really has had Newcastle's number over the years to the tune of 16 straight wins. I don't see that changing here. Going to roll with the Red Devils in this one to cover the 1.5 goal spread.
PICK: Man United -1.5
Predicted score: 3-0 Man United.
Aston Villa/Reading over 2.5 goals.
We know Reading's defence can concede goals, and Aston Villa can definitely score. Also, If Reading get down early, they will have to open up, which could lead to a goal or 2 for reading, but also more opportunites and goals for Aston Villa
PICK: Over 2.5
Everton
Man City +0.5, +1
Man City is a draw machine lately, and Everton has had a few rough patches. So rough, that they couldn't beat an injury riddled Chelsea, who were down to 10 men! Maybe Everton rights the ship tomorrow, but I like my chances against a highly confident and well coached Man City team tomorrow. I'll buy a half goal here, so we minimize our risk.
PICK: Man City +0.5, +1
Predicted score: 1-1
Liverpool/Middlesborough Under 2.5 goals
What's Liverpool done lately? Nothing really. Fact of the matter is, the goals have dried up for Liverpool. It's a game where you figure Liverpool should score 3 on their own, but fact is, they are having a tough time generating chances. Middlesboroug are going to playing very defensively, but just like Wigan before, Liverpool will have a tough time opening up this kind of defence. The blueprint is out, and Liverpool has been struggling. Their chances at the EPL title are all but done, now they have to fight it out with man city for the fourth spot in the table. Middlesborough don't score may themselves, and considering that they will be playing defence in this one, I anticipate a low scoring game.
PICK: Under 2.5
Finally for me tomorrow, Pinnacle has been offering these now for the last couple of weeks, so I'll take a shot just for fun.
EPL Saturday Grand Salami OVER 21.5 goals
8 games on the Sched, that means 22/8 = 2.75 goals per game. I think this will be surpassed. There should be enough goals in the Aston Villa/Reading game, Man U should get a couple at least, Arsenal should bag a couple, and Totenham has been finding the net lately, and who knows, maybe Anelka starting for Chelsea might get a goal or 2. This is just for shits and giggles really. Never tried it for hockey, but could be profitable in soccer.
PICK: Grand Salami Over 21.5 goals
