As I watched the first month of the season I was quite surprised by all the transfers and rattling that occurred at the player level and management levels. I was very cautious about making any large choices during that time and I basically stood back and watched as a neutral.

Now that the transfer window has closed I can clearly say that some clubs have not adjusted well and many haven’t quite gelled.
Let’s get this party started!
Liverpool vs. Southampton
10:00am ET

Liverpool:Mignolet, Toure,Sakho, Agger, Skrtel, Lucas, Henderson, Gerrard, Aspas, Moses, Sturridge.
Subs: Jones, Kelly,Sterling, Enrique, Wisdom, Ibe, Alberto
Southampton:Boruc, Clyne, Fonte,Lovren, Shaw, Wanyama, Schneiderlin, Lallana (c), Rodriguez, Lambert, Osvaldo.
Subs: K. Davis (GK), S. Davis, Ramírez,Ward-Prowse, Cork, Chambers, Hooiveld

Southampton has struggled to find the back ofthe net in open play and they have only managed two goals this season.

Liverpool has really improved their defense and it was quite evident in the match against Manchester United.

I was reading some info from the Kop faithful stating that Sturridge is suffering from a slight knock he took last match butthey want him to start to continue his streak of consecutive goals.

Not a popular choice but it’s the way I see this match unfolding with Coutinho out and Sturridge suffering a little. The only thing that can hurt this wager is if the Saints score early and first, which will open things up for a very tight Liverpool side. I strongly feel we won’t see three goals inthis match.

England Championship

Yeovil vs. QPR
10:00am ET

Yeovil have given up 5 goals in their last 3 matches and QPR need to score more goals. I can see this being 0-1 or 0-2 but in case Rangers open the flood gates I will take them on the half ball.

QPR -1/2 (-150) 3 Units

ManchesterCity vs. Manchester United
11:00amET

It’s the Derby and those are always tough to call. However, in the last 16 Head to Head matches there were only two draws. Both midfields have been strengthened and both are capable of scoring goals. I’m taking City with revenge on their minds and at home.

Cardiff City vs. Tottenham Hotspurs
11:00amET

I love the way Cardiff have started the season beating Man City and drawing with Everton. Spurs have been very solid but they are still missing that extra edge. I think this line is fishy and I expected Spurs to be closer to a 1 goal handicap with all things considered. I love Cardiff’s style and tempo and I think they manage a draw at the very least.

*** Refereeing today for Manchester United is Howard Webb . Forgot to mention that Webb has the whistle today in the Derby and he's United's dressing room bitch. I won't be surprised if we see a penalty for United. Should have stated that fact above. Sorry I think he believes people go to the match to watch him referee and not watch football. #%()

Nice to see you back, great start.

Thank you, its a shame I lost the Cardiff match at the death or it would be a perfect record so far. I've won matches in the 90th as well so you take the good with the bad I guess.

League 1

Brentford vs. Leyton Orient
2:45pmET

Brentford are in 9th place in League One, and are quite tough to beat at Griffin Park with a 2-1-0 record scoring 4 goals and conceding 1. The Bees have been pouring on the offense as of late and their last five matches with a suspect defense; scoring 9 goals and allowing 15. Furthermore, Brentford have lost just 1 of their last 17 home games in all competitions.

Leyton Orient is on top of the table winning all 7 League matches so far. In their road matches they have 8 goals and allowed 2 goals this season and they are winners of 9/10 games in all competitions.

All things considered, the way these attacking sides have been playing in the last few matches it clearly looks like we will see at least 3 goals scored today. An early goal would set the tone and a cautious start might make things tougher.

Sunderland vs. Liverpool

Liverpool has lost two matches in a row and has sputtered lately; a clear contrast to the manner in which they started the season. However the Reds should get a boost from the return of Suarez (suspension) to EPL action.

Well I had a feeling that Di Canio would be shown the door. His terrible record of 0-4-1 and his ridiculous face off with the Black Cat supporters after last week’s humiliation to WBA was not well received by the Sunderland executive. I can’t see any reason to expect a different Sunderland today when facing a superior Liverpool side that has a very motivated and rested Suarez looking to strike quickly.

Sunderland has yet to win in the EPL and have a -8 goal differential. They are the worst attacking team and the worst defending team in the EPL to date. I don’t see temporary manager Kevin Ball making a huge difference in such a short time at Sunderland.

This is a huge wager for me at this point in the season. I strongly feel that Suarez will be the critical factor in boosting the Reds to victory. We have a clear difference in quality on the pitch and with a shattered Sunderland side that has given up 3 goals in each of the last 3 EPL matches which they have played… I know I will cash in.

This is not a popular choice since the Reds have been slumping, but I fully expect a win and a first goal by Liverpool in the first 15 minutes on a Horrendous ‘Black Cat’ Defense and possibly a 0-3 score line by the half time break.

Everton vs. Newcastle

Newcastle has one major problem and that’s a lack of goals from their midfielders. And I’m a little confused as to who will step up as their premier goal scorer up front as well. The Magpies find themselves on the road today and they will need some goal production to beat a solid Everton side.

Everton has been playing wonderful football and they seem to have adjusted to the departure of Fellani. They love to attack and that is largely due to Martinez’s influence as the manager. I see goals in them today as they appear to be the stronger side on the pitch today.

This should be a closely fought match which should see Everton pushing forward most of the match quite similar to the manner in which Norwich played the first half yesterday.

It should be a close one and I don’t trust the full ball in the Asian Handicap to much in this one so I will mix my wager.

Manchester City vs. Everton
7:45am ET

Everton have been scoring and with their new found confidence have remained undefeated in the EPL with a record of DDDWWW. I give full marks to Martinez for his ability to transform Everton into an attacking first team. Exciting to watch and very dangerous if you cannot hold your own in the back four.

I believe today is when Everton’s unbeaten record ends in the EPL. They will be facing a City squad that is unbeaten at home this season in the EPL, scoring 10 goals and conceding only 1. I’m not quite sure what transpired the last two matches, but the hangover from beating United in the Derby was devastating with a loss to Villa and then facing an unstoppable Bayern Munich. We can blame an over rated Hart but Bayern could have beaten anyone in the world playing the way they did versus City.

I’m not sure by how many goals Manchester City will win this match, but they will win. The back lash from their last two losses in front of a home crowd will be too much for Everton.

It will be attack, attack, attack from first touch and I see goals in this match with Everton scoring on the counter. They need to find what they brought to the pitch against United to appease their faithful and win today. They will!!!

Fulham vs. Stoke City
10:00am ET

Everything I have been reading in the media is complete negativity towards Fulham. “They are rubbish”, “The worst I have seen any EPL team play in a long time”, “Stoke should have a field day today” is my favorite.

What should have been a good season with much hope for the Cottagers, has found them hovering near the relegation zone. They aren’t a bad side and they have the talent, it’s just that they have not been performing to the level at which they should and can. Will this be the match that sets them on the right path? I believe it is.

I didn’t write a review last week in the Stoke vs. Norwich match, but I did watch it and I had chosen Norwich when everything I read pointed to Stoke. They appeared flat and Norwich controlled them all first half to a victory. This is a Stoke side that is still feeling the effects of Tony Pulis’s style of play and have yet to find an identity apart from that under Hughes. Stoke played boring football under Pulis and did their best to play a tight low scoring game hoping for a mistake to get their goal. I’ve been reading about the unrest between the Potters and their manager. In fact, Jones was fined for his open criticism of Hughes new ideas and tactics. It’s a wounded team locker room in shambles and clearly not on the same page as the manager.

If Fulham are going to win today, they must tighten their defence and not concede a last minute goal like they did against Cardiff and WBA. In fact, Fulham will be too much for the Potters today with the weaponry of Berbatov, Ruiz, Rodallega and Bent to lead the way.

Another large wager at maximum units here, as I fully expect Fulham to really take it to Stoke and shove the ball right down their throats.
