Ego NFL Commentary
<HR style="COLOR: rgb(209,209,225)" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->We'll start in Green Bay, where it seems Javon Walker has heeded Brett Favre's advice and is headed to camp. This doesn't mean there will be harmony in camp once he arrives, I'll be keeping a close eye on what transpires there. If Javon is there to work and help make the team better, another playoff birth is in the cards. But, if he's there to bitch and moan about his contract, this team could struggle on offense all year, especially if Ahman Green can't stay healthy. The fact remains, the Packers did nothing significant to improve the defense, they may have to "outscore" their opponents all year to have a chance.

In Dallas, it's obvious the offense will center around running back Julius Jones. Parcells added some nice parts to the defense, which will keep them competitive, but Jones must carry the load for Drew Bledsoe to have any kind of success. I don't think Bledsoe is capable of leading this team into the playoffs, all his skill position guys (except for TE Whelan) are aging guys also (Keyshawn and Terry Glenn). How Julius goes, so will go the Cowboys.

Speaking of running backs, if Jamal Lewis returns healthy, this once-porous Baltimore offense could become deadly, now that new coordiator Jim Fassel is preaching speed. Derrick Mason gives QB Kyle Boller a bonafide nmber one receiver. The defense will be solid as always. Now, head coach Billick has some weapons on offense. Opposing defeses will have thier hands filled keeping up with speedy Mark Clayton, who will line up all over the place.

Early reports out of Miami are saying that Ricky Williams looks very fit. But, fact remains that he'll be suspended for the first four games of the season. When Ricky returns, he will want to be "the man", but unless rookie Ronnie Brown struggles badly or is injured, Ricky will to accept a role he is unfamiliar with, part-time back. The more pressing question for the Dolphins, in my opinion, is who will win the starting QB spot, highly-paid "savior" A J Feeley or journeyman Gus Frerotte?? It could become a revolving door at that position as I don't see either one of them being a consistant winner

I'll have more tomorrow....

Ego: As long as you are giving your personal insight into each team, why don't you relate to the season under/over totals and give us your opinion as to how the team will do against the total? I'd be interested.
