Never knew the guy was such a victim magnet.

Ex-Bull's home in foreclosure

<!-- Article's First Paragraph --> <!-- BlogBurst ContentStart --> Eddy Curry's multimillion-dollar mansion in southwest suburban Burr Ridge -- where the former Chicago Bulls center was bound with duct tape and robbed two summers ago -- is now in foreclosure, according to court documents filed Monday.
The former Thornwood High School star, now a member of the New York Knicks, as of Friday was behind $217,502 on his $3.7 million mortgage, foreclosure documents show.
Bayview Loan Servicing filed the foreclosure notice in Cook County Circuit Court against Curry and his wife. According to the filing, Eddy and Patrice Curry took out a $3,719,316 mortgage on the home at 6655 Lee Court on July 3, 2006.
When they were granted the 30-year mortgage, there was an initial monthly payment of $28,675 with an interest rate of 9.25 percent, the filing said. During the repayment period, the interest rate could drop to no lower than 3.25 percent, and could not go higher than 15.25 percent.
If the Currys made their monthly payments on time, their final mortgage payment would be due in August 2036. Curry's lawyer could not be reached for comment Monday.
The sprawling Lee Court home was the scene of a harrowing holdup in July 2007. Three masked men were waiting for Curry and his family when they arrived at the house.
The gunmen bound the 6-foot-11, 285-pound Curry with duct tape, and also tied up his wife, two family members and a staffer, police said.
The gunmen separately took Curry and his wife around the house to point out jewelry and cash before fleeing.
No one was hurt.
Two men were later charged in the stickup. The same men also were charged with tying up and robbing NBA star Antoine Walker, a Mount Carmel grad, in his River North condo that same summer.
Violent crime touched Curry again this year when his ex-girlfriend and their 9-month-old daughter were slain in a South Loop condo.
Curry's 3-year-old son was found unhurt in the condo. A lawyer linked to the girlfriend was charged with the January murders.

plenty of rich black athlete's don't bother to pay their bills, just take a look at Plaxico and how many people have sued him for non-payment even though the guy had millions.

What's this guy's current contract status? You would think he could get some sort of a short term loan to avoid foreclosure, if he has guaranteed money coming to him.

Although he has earned about $34 million since 2005, Curry has apparently had difficulty paying his bills on time. He has been sued at least five times for nonpayment over the last 18 months. Most of the cases have been resolved, however.

Jacob & Company sued Curry in July 2008 after he failed to pay $452,687 for multiple pieces of jewelry purchased over a three-year period. The case has since been “amicably resolved,” according to Evan Weintraub, the lawyer who represented Jacob & Company. The terms of the settlement are confidential.

In December, Curry was sued for nonpayment by the Casual Male clothing store, which was seeking $47,063. That case also has been “totally resolved,” said Edward Margolis, the lawyer who represented Casual Male. “He paid for the clothes,” Margolis said. “I don’t know if it was an oversight or whatever. This guy’s got so much money, he probably forgot about it.”

In another case, filed in February 2008, Curry was sued by a Chicago trainer named Basil Evelyn, who said Curry breached an agreement to hire him. Evelyn sought $55,926 for his services, in addition to $100,000 in interest, compensatory damages and loss of business and $300,000 in punitive damages, according to a Sun-Times report published at the time. That case was dismissed in December without any money changing hands.

Finally, as part of the sexual harassment suit, David Kuchinsky, Curry’s former driver, sought $93,000 in unpaid wages and reimbursements. That dispute will now be handled by an arbitrator.

I know people who make $30 000 and couldn't find $500 if they needed it to save their home. The stupidity of people with money knows no bounds

How many years has Kosar been out of football? The pill popping and booze probably haven't helped but probably the biggest problem Bernie had was his divorce.

It seems Curry is pretty much a stiff with lots of things. However I'm sure lots of wealthy people would be doing the same thing as Curry if he owes 3.7 million on a house now worth only 2.8 million.

Even though professional athletes earn paychecks that most of us can’t comprehend, history is littered with stories of athletes who went broke because of outrageous, poorly planned or just plain stupid purchases. Check out these examples of professional athletes who spent their fortunes on purchases that were ill-advised, excessive or over the top. Thank

[h=2]Eddy Curry: Personal Loan and More Than $1K in Cable Bills[/h]In 2010, Eddy Curry was earning $273,000 a minute. Yet, he found himself pleading for mercy over his default on a 2008 personal loan of more than $500,000 at 85 percent interest. He cited his $30,000-a-month household expenses, which included a monthly $1,075 cable and satellite television bill, according to ESPN.
