Ed has taken many hateful e-mails from that play. Here is one that was quite interesting from a friend of mine sent to him Wednesday:

Unfortunately, San Diego fans can't accept the fact that players decide games. I've always thought you were a great ref, so hang in there. The defense of SD lost that game, plain and simple. I wish sports fans would realize this is for entertainment and not life or death. Being a lifelong Cubs fan, maybe I've learned that lesson a lot quicker than others out there. Anyhow, wanted to give you some encouragement since so many idiots out there are taking this way too far.
