ya he has a lot of great pitchers down there to work with this year too. Unfortunately, its looking like the Orioles bullpen is gonna be our biggest problem of course...theyre god-awful

If the Orioles defense had Jones in CF and Mora playing 3B, this would be a 3-1 game. So many misplayed balls today.

what a nightmare. such an easy under. you bet this all day long if someone told you the O's would score 1 run.

i don't think the markakis drop led to a run...and the ortiz ball over pie's head? i am not sure jones catches that. but yes, this should have gone under. wow, i can't believe what i'm watching.

I felt BOS runline was the best bet because watching Hendrickson play as a Jay, and knowing his performance in Tampa I felt he was going to give up a lot of runs. Looks like I was wrong though as he only gave up 3 and his BP is messing up now.

Playing at home, on a great holiday, against a bad pitcher, you can't pass BOS' runline.

this all has to do with Orioles bullpen guys. Just putrid. Knowing the Sox bullpen was absolute money, the only question was can the Orioled 'pen hold Sox to under 7 runs in the last 3 Sox innings at-bat? The answer, sadly enough, is NO, not even close.

i don't mind losing bets when i'm just way off and cap a game horribly, but this is a fucking joke to lose this way in the 7th inning after this had the complete tone of an under. sox aren't even mashing. dink and dunk bleeders.

I know the Sox are tough, but when hits like that and the 1st inning double off of Izturis glove leading to 2 runs are falling, there is nothing you can do.

i'm from boston. big sox fan. and i think they blow. i think teams need to be recycled every few years. this one is getting long in the tooth for me. i'm tired of ortiz, varitek, etc...and i'm already getting tired of pedey. ellsbury is disgustingly overrated. i just don't enjoy watching them as much anymore. when drew becomes your favorite player because everyone else dislikes him, you know you have problems.

ya this is real frustrating loss...I dont do totals too often but Iv'e been spot-on every time this year until this one. And I feel robbed the way things have turned in the last 30 minutes

Tough break guys, feels pretty awful right now for sure but there will be hundreds of more MLB wagers this year so just gonna move on to tonights card.

mjm, honestly, I think you sound pretty ridiculous right there lol

Best team in MLB this season and they're all good and likable guys. You must just be way too picky because almost anyone would love to have this team and I, for one, am very thankful for it

But to each, his own...everyone has their own preferences I suppose

ttyl guys, bad start to the day for sure

djax, the "blow" statement was not made seriously. it was hyperbole, nothing more, on a slow day at work. clearly it is a good squad. my main point was that i was just tired of watching them, that's all. have you lived in boston a long time or your whole life for that matter? i have. i just think there are elements of the organization that are tough to swallow at this stage - 1) theo getting too much credit. a lot of his moves have been awful, but i realize when the organization wins the mistakes are overlooked. he has a boat load of money to spend every single year, so the team SHOULD be good. again, i just think he is overrated and i don't know anyone within the boston sports community (and i know several) that does not think he gets far more credit than he deserves and the mistakes (drew, renteria, lugo, clement, etc) are amazingly glossed over. and before anyone starts raving about the beckett/lowell deal, that was lucchino, not theo. 2) big market squad that SHOULD win. the patriots/belichick are the model franchise in the city/state, not the sox. the sox are players in every major FA/trade and they consistenly overpay whereas the patriots (different sport i realize, but still...) underpay and still attract all the top talent and win in a league where there is much more parity in my opinion. anyway, i do not think it was a ridiculous statement. i was exaggerating slightly, but they are boring and getting old for the same reason the yankees are trite and irksome.

Lifelong Bostonian here, although I'm just south of the city these days. I'm not sick of my Sox and I don't waste time comparing football and baseball, given that they are about as far apart as can be relative to salary cap structure. I also think the Epstein complaints are silly, given Pedroia, Papelbon, Ellsbury, Buchholz, Lowrie, Masterson, and so on and so on. They're likable, build from within (which makes the Yankee comparison odd), fun to watch and they win.

Every GM makes mistakes, including Theo. To say that mistakes equate to not being a good GM is laughable. As is claiming to know a bunch of people in the "Boston sports community" and claiming they all agree (just not publicly). I have plenty of complaints about my hometown teams, but the ones in this thread just aren't based in reality IMHO. And plus ... everyone knows Greenwich, CT is Yankee territory.

I've lived in Boston area my entire life...and I agree with pretty much everything he said ^^^

But seriously, baseball and sports in general have tons of money factors involved these days and thats just what you have to ignore IMO or else you're really not gonna wanna be involved at all anyway. It used to be that everyone values lifelong or longtime players who stay with one team for a long time. I don't understand the problem with that, I think its a good thing as long as they work hard, are good guys, and win games. I cant understand any reason why a Sox fan could complain right now unless you're really turned off by the whole money issue...in which case pro sports arent for you at all anymore, unfortunately.

GO SOX!!!
