I viewed Dungy tactic more on the side of keeping his defense off the field. The Colts D line was getting worn down and needed rest in order to be able to make stops at that point of the game. Dungy (I think) knew this was his only chance. The Colts D line could not get to Collins..nor could the Colts OL carry the load..

I love when people post common sense like this guy! It was plain as day that the colts simply couldnt stop collins. They gambled with the 4-4-3 and it stopped the run but collins was gashing them for huge yardage in the second half. Matter of fact it could have been worse had the titans been passing first then running second in the first half. But it took them a while to make the adjustment and they did it well in the second.

jacksonville did the same thing, Houston did the same thing, all 3 division rivals have attempted to go for it on 4th down against the titans and an unusual rate..(jags a little bit skewed because they have been attempting several 4th down plays per game since last year.)

These are teams that know the titans inside out. Its not a coincidence that the division rivals of the titans have all attempted this risky tactic .

The coaches know the titans better than any other teams in the NFL and if they choose to go for it on 4th down, that should tell you something that the coaches know they probably wouldnt be able to stop the titans from scoring.

Stupid Comment!! you think manning would be who he is without Dungy??

I REALLY hope this is a joke. Hate to break the news to you, but coaches don't make players better. In fact, coaches have little effect on the overall effectiveness of a team.

Also, the right decision is to obvious going for it. All of you idiots stating otherwise are just being results oriented. Yeah, lets punt the ball for 30 yards when we just need one more yard to get a first down into the other team's territory! Get real, and try actually using your brain to think.

of course they should have went for it..but they really should have converted on that 4th down play. there's no excuse for that esp when you have manning and all those options for receivers

I have just seen a replay of this game and i have come to the conclusion that the colts secondary is definately one of the worst in the league. Even with sanders back i think they will totally suck against any legitimate QB in the league.

For those that have tivo or NFL network, check out this game again. Colts couldnt stop the titans at all! Their WRs were wide open on so many plays but had a ridiculous number of drops!.

collins easily could have had 300 yds passing or more in that game. Its no wonder even Aaron rodgers torched the crap out of them. Look at the teams they have beaten. Vikings, Ravens and Texans (who had them beat down until the Qb turn the ball over an astronomical number of times in the 4th after torching them for 27 points. A back up QB no less did this to the colts)

I am not saying the colts wont cover this weekend against the Pats..(i have colts winning that game and covering)

What i am telling you is that the next time the colts are matched up with a half way decent QB, then fade the crap out of them.

They suck Dungy knows it, and thats why they went for it on 4th down twice and failed. He knew that there was no way they would keep the titans from scoring as his defense has been beat up, torn up and pretty much was giving it up like a virgin on her second dick!

2) with out addai and a qb like manning u throw the ball
