Me too. It's amazing what a difference a county line makes. My first 1 1/2 years here, it was strictly Williamson (live and work). There was no political talk whatsoever. People generally very happy and laid back. The next 1 1/2 years, I'm working in Austin. Suddenly the temperament is completely changed. I can't say that it's quite as bad as San Francisco, but not far off. People bitching and moaning about politics on a daily basis. Homeless problems. Crime. Materialistic bullshit. And a pothead mayor that talks like he's been smoking dope since he was 5.
