Only two 7-Seeds have ever made the Final Four: UVA back in 1984 and UConn last year. UVA lost their game while we know UConn went on to win the whole thing.
Overall, 7-Seeds are 1-4 vs. 1-Seeds with the only Win being UConn over Florida last year.
Coack K is 8-1 vs. Tom Izzo lifetime however that 1 Loss against him was in the tournament.
Coach K and Duke are 47-8 as a 1-Seed vs. any 2 or Lower Seed.
They are 37-4 as a 1-Seed vs. any 5 or Lower Seed (One of those 4 losses was to Izzo and MSU as a 5-Seed)
And they are 30-0 as a 1-Seed vs. any 7 or Lower Seed
Izzo is 8-4 as a 5-Seed or Higher vs. a 4-Seed or Lower (However, he was 5-4 before this year)
Basically, 7-Seeds haven't had too much success in the Final Four however in a very limited sample size. Overall, 7-Seeds are 31-69 vs. and Seed higher than them and 1-4 vs. 1-Seeds. Doesn't bode well for Izzo and the Spartans but the only real success a 7 has ever had did come last year.
