Once again gringo your are give out misinformation. As long as you apply for the proper work paper you have all the same rights as any Costa Rican national, the same as if you applied for a work permit in the states.
Thanks Joey, just curious. I was thinking the same thing referenced above, that contracts signed under undue duress are not enforceable.
I am not familiar with CR law either, but if they were forced to sign off under those circumstance, morally it sucks. But it is a lot better than not getting paid.
gl to all involved
Hey truth, since you are "legal", have you been paying your taxes in Canada? You know you have to claim all income made outside your country?
Just trying to help you out buddy.
Val, I don't work for any book in CR. Do you argue with the fact that a clerk making $800 - $1,000 per month is making 300% - 400% more than their peers? Did they not see the caja was not being paid in full? They understand what that means. That most of there pay is under the table. Since they are getting paid much more than their peers they should be able to set aside some serious cash.
Just a question Gringo, since you do not work for a book you either work for another intl. company are retiered or running. How would you like it if the company were you were working at all of a sudden up and closee and took your pension, unenployment and severance pay and gave you nothing I'm sure nobody in this forum would stand for that.

LMAO
_
Besure 75% of your pay is placed in a "secure" Costa Rican BANK! _
ROTHFLMAO
Thanks Gringo, you've succeeded in making my day.

It wasn't as funny as your contradicting statement on sportsbooks.
I have been working for a book for over 5 years now. During football I work between 75 and 90 hour a week for reg pay. According to what gringo says I should not be entitled to what is coming to me (by law)because I am paid more than the reg guy on the street. Do you guys not think that if you bust your ass an are loyal to the company work for that they should take care of you?
The fallout? Because the owners decided to sell and retire?
Banks in Costa Rica are pretty solid. Where do you think the other locals keep there money? Of course if they really want to they could keep their money in any country they choose. They could keep the money as dollars in a safe, which would go up 12% per year against the colon.
Val, I don't work for any book in CR. I'm not working for anyone in CR. I'm not retired. I'm not wanted anywhere. I don't have any record period.
Many people here know me in person. Ken has stayed at my house.
Truth, I know who you are buddy. Have a merry christmas.

ROFLMAO!!!! Everyone better start running from "any new type of book".
VAL - you should be paid. In one way or another each person that stay with a company for that long helps to build it. If the owners are getting out of the business, i think they should take care of the people who helped them build it, regardless of how much you make. However I know NONE of the details in this case.
Did they pay any of the employees? Or just not you?
