I seem to recall a thread where a dude serving fries in McDonalds has been 'reclassified' as a manufacturing job in the US.

A wee rightie trick used in the UK (By Thatcher) was to have zero unemployed school leavers (instead of about 150,000 p.a) back in the 80's.

Since these kids had never been EMployed, they could not be UNEMployed when they signed onto welfare, and therefore were excluded from the stats...

If the economy is so great, then why does Greenspan have short-term interest rates sitting at 40 year lows? Currently 1.25%.

Would you rather them be at 20%? There's no reason to jack them up if there's no major threat of price inflation. And what's wrong with buying a little insurance instead of killing off the recovery?
