If there is one game really that has no effect on the pointspread...it is on Monday Night Football! Either the dog wins outright or the favorite covers the number. So the only real question is "What team will win the game?" If you like the Bears tonight...forget about taking the 4X points...just play the moneyline. Otherwise, just take the Packers and lay the 4X points. Very, very, seldom will the pointspread come into play on a Monday Night Football game. Just pick the winner of the game and forget about what the pointspread is.

I've posted this before with not many views so I guess I will post this here again in your thread. The Point spread is not a factor in any NFL game. Here are the records of teams winning their respective games against the spread thru yesterdays ball games:

Week 1 14-1-1 (Carolina the only winning team not to cover the spread)
Week 2 14-1-1 (Oakland)
Week 3 13-1 (Seattle)
Week 4 10-2-1 (Oakland, Denver)

YTD 51-4-3 Thats 93% winners on the year for ALL games...I did not track all of last year but I am positive it is greater than 80% last year.

Good luck to all.

To futher back your numbers. In pre-season there were 58 NFL games this year. Of these only 6 times did the points become a factor, the other 58 times you just had to pick the winner straight up.

58 - 6 is 93.75% of the time that the team wins the game, they also cover the the game. Right on with your numbers for the regular season.
