Origins: Although there once was some truth to the item quoted above, the information it contains is long outdated and never had anything to do with Pepsi or Coca-Cola. Neither soda company is producing, or has ever produced, redesigned cans bearing any portion of the Pledge of Allegiance or an image of the Empire State Building. This issue concerns a special patriotic can design produced by Dr Pepper back in November 2001, a can which was marketed for a limited time and has been off of store shelves since February 2002.

Don't believe the Pepsi hype!

Don't buy Pepsi in the new can. Pepsi has a new "patriotic" can coming out with pictures of the Empire State Bldg. and the Pledge of Allegiance on them. However, Pepsi left out two little words on the pledge, "Under God". Pepsi said they did not want to offend anyone.

If this is true, then I don't want to offend anyone at the Pepsi corporate office. So if I don't buy any Pepsi product, they will not be offended when they don't receive our money that has the words "In God We Trust" on it.

If you're worried about God then you shouldn't be gambling. We all know what he (supposedly) did when he found people gambling in his temple. Too bad he didn't try that at a NYCOTB joint on a saturday. He'd have been crucified twice.

And how much have you personally donated? You're on a gambling forum so you obviously have money to blow on gambling.....
I guess that's more important to you, eh?

Sorry, but everyone's an equally selfish prick. Some are just more hypocritical than others.

I'll have to take your word for it as I don't want to search the web for Canada's budget expenditures for multiple years. However, the U.S. has given over a billion to Sudan since '89 according to www.usaid.gov and given that Canada's population is roughly 11% of what the U.S. has that would be about 152.2 million dollars Canadian given the most recent exchange rate. If it's more I'm sure you would post it here and if not this thread will die down soon enough.

Went to the Sox game Sunday and they were giving away these after the game. I must say, I really liked it.

Is this one of these nutchain emails spreading around the inboxes of the religious right? I've seen so many of these and they're almost always factually false but they spread em anyway because it whips their base up into a frenzy. It really is quite funny. But facts really are insignificant to zealots. Fear, anger and hate is all that matters.

Oh yeah, and PepsiOne is the only cola I will drink these days. 1 calorie and to me it tastes better than the sugar colas.

Sounds like a typical Christian, thinks everyone has to agree with them. I guess I'm just an infidel.

Personally I drink Pepsi and I don't care much about what's on the outside of the can, but what's inside the can....

The constitution of the United States was written without a single mention or reference to God....as our forefathers saw the importance of keeping the separation of church and state...

At one time the Pledge of Allegiance did not include the words "under God".....but someone somewhere thought it'd be a good idea to include some religious reference....

I consider this move, along with that amendment that protects the flag from burning, to be a considerable waste of time and money.....I would question a policy that elevates the flag to some stature of idolatry at the cost of individual expression and the right to speak out against the government...I doubt that our forefathers would have elevated either of these two issues to the point that they have been taken...

I posted it once (in this very thread), I'll post it again. According to Snopes, this is NOT true!

I like the proactive "out of the can" thinking.

I'm going to switch from Coke to Pepsi.
