I believe in leveling the playing field with other nations

I also know we live in a global economy, I don't believe government can change that, we can only make sure we're competitive as a nation and other nations don't impose one way tariffs that put us at a disadvantage

1) we keep the costs of doing business down

2) we don't let other nations put our exports at a competitive disadvantage, we reciprocate

and once again, DT is much more closely aligned with me on this issue

HC is a career politician, she understands none of this and will change nothing. she'll simply make the same promises again in 4 years to fix something that never gets fixed

If 35%-45% tariffs are more aligned with your views than free trade, I would strongly suggest that you reevaluate your views or at least explore the potential consequences of those tariffs.

When you say in every interview "We're going to bring the jobs back from China, from Mexico.", there is a reason nobody really goes into much detail what those jobs are.

Apple is a good example. Trump says Apple is going to start making their products in the US. Well, the only real overseas manufacturing that Apple does is end of supply chain assembly work that is outsourced to companies like Foxxconn. These jobs wouldn't pay much more than minimum wage if they came back to the US. Does he know that? Does he care? No, but it makes for a cool soundbite. To the average voter it sounds awesome but most of the good jobs that Apple has when it comes to design or chipmaking are indeed based in the US already.

so?
He also imported tiles from Italy when he built Trump Tower.
He bought a bottle of water that came from Switzerland.
He never ever said not to do business with other countries.

Sooooo?????:ohno:

It is a different thing to buy products made in other countries then to manufacture your own products overseas.
Isn't his whole shtick that he is gonna STOP US companies from moving their factories overseas,or force Apple to
start manufacturing Apple products in the USA instead of China?
While he himself has been doing the same SHIT for years.
He has been manufacturing all Trump BS products overseas.
Not a single SHIT he sells is made in the USA.
He talks the talk, but does NOT walk the walk.

bullshit.

Trump is mostly a builder. He was never a politician until a few months ago.
He hires people in the USA. Thousands of them. Minorities, women etc.
He gets a few ties and a few shirts made in other countries. big fucking deal. That's not doing the same shit for years as you claim. It's not even close.
He builds things in other countries also. Hires people in those countries. What a despicable man I know.
Apple is one of the largest companies on the planet. Comparing them to a few Ties made in China is silly.
plus, with Apple, he's making a point. He rather have them located in the USA and wants to create a tax environment favorable for companies to stay in the US and others to come back. He used then as an example to make a point. Also, he is making aware what very few people understand that China is devaluating their currency and how American politicians let it happen.

If you don't get it, I doubt I can make you understand. I suspect Trump could cure cancer and you would still criticize him somehow.

Sounds like a pro-business, small-government free market kinda guy..One of the most successful companies in American history and they're going to have "such problems" because the Post was being a big meanie.

"I have respect for Jeff Bezos, but he bought The Washington Post to have political influence, and I gotta tell you, we have a different country than we used to have," Trump said during a speech in Texas on Friday (see clip below). "He wants political influence so that Amazon will benefit from it. That's not right. And believe me, if I become president, oh, do they have problems. They're going to have such problems."

I'm going to suggest you stick to what I wrote, that being I oppose tariffs that diminish our ability to compete and that we reciprocate in those situations

and I don't believe the status quo is a better alternative

and then there are democrats, who simply choose to earn less and give less, they choose to let government solve their problems, they choose to live in poverty

who think other people need to provide for them

presumably because they're so fucking smart, caution, libtarded brilliance at work

then again, if we didn't have idiots, we wouldn't be having these political discussions

More than 728,000 people signed a Moveon.org petition calling on Macy’s to ditch the Donald — to sever its ties with Donald Trump, the real estate mogul-turned-celebrity designer-turned-Republican presidential candidate.
And Wednesday morning, the national department store chain announced that it was doing just that.
“Macy’s is a company that stands for diversity and inclusion,” the company said in a statement. “We have no tolerance for discrimination in any form. We welcome all customers, and respect for the dignity of all people is a cornerstone of our culture. We are disappointed and distressed by recent remarks about immigrants from Mexico. We do not believe the disparaging characterizations portray an accurate picture of the many Mexicans, Mexican Americans and Latinos who have made so many valuable contributions to the success of our nation. In light of statements made by Donald Trump, which are inconsistent with Macy’s values, we have decided to discontinue our business relationship with Mr. Trump and will phase-out the Trump menswear collection, which has been sold at Macy’s since 2004.” :hammerit

Donald J. Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Fla., describes itself as “one of the most highly regarded private clubs in the world,” and it is not just the very-well-to-do who want to get in.
Since 2010, nearly 300 United States residents have applied or been referred for jobs as waiters, waitresses, cooks and housekeepers there. But according to federal records, only 17 have been hired.
In all but a handful of cases, Mar-a-Lago sought to fill the jobs with hundreds of foreign guest workers from Romania and other countries.
In his quest for the Republican presidential nomination, Mr. Trump has stoked his crowds by promising to bring back jobs that have been snatched by illegal immigrants or outsourced by corporations, and voters worried about immigration have been his strongest backers.
But he has also pursued more than 500 visas for foreign workers at Mar-a-Lago since 2010, according to the United States Department of Labor, while hundreds of domestic applicants failed to get the same jobs.

how did the Macy's boycott work out? It backfired right in their face. All did did was help Trump get elected. Thousands of people cut up their Macy's cards and last I heard, Macy's isn't doing so well.
