i'd go 1. stern 2. goodall 3. selig.
selig doesn't know how to market like stern, even though he has a supposedly more followed game. i'd argue the nba and mlb are closer then people believe. he doesn't have the network rights the nba has, and doesn't have the star power or global following the nba has. i think the mlb networks are a joke for the most part. tbs is an embarrassment. fox is good for post season coverage.
goodall has got it made. he walks into the most popular american league by far, going to have to be an idiot to mess this up. seems like a tyrant, stern like figure which is good. 21 billion a year in tv contracts, big name players. he'd have to be a fool to mess this up.
stern though is the best. made nba more mainstream then ever. negotiated billion dollar contracts with major networks. has created greater star power for his players then the other leagues. globalized the game. you have commishes like goodall trying to copy the nba because it' so big globally and they want a piece of that. strong attendance and partnerships. he's a tyrant, cold hearted, but you need to be in this business.
