I've got a small percentage of my 401k in a self-directed account. Right now, I have my money split between EA and Wal-Mart.

I'm thinking about ditching them and splitting it up between Cortex Pharmaceuticals, Helicon Therepeutics, Memory Pharmaceuticals, and Saegis Pharmaceuticals, all of which are companies who are coming close to developing a memory enhancement pill that is said to be more lucrative than Viagra when it first hit the market.

Thoughts?

Bio techs and drugs cos will be strong coming up here in the short term IMO as more and more mainstream cos report lower than expected earnings.

There is nothing wrong with specking with a small % of your funds. If you can pick the right biotechs you can make a ton with just a little. Of course more biotechs than not go down in flames.

I would think that speculating with just enough that if you lost it all, you wouldn't miss it at all.

Go for it!
