Dodgers Payroll 90million
Pirates Payroll 30million

:thumbsup2:
Dodgers 4-3 lost 2 gms by 1 run
Pirates are 1-7 this year
Dodgers are 18-5 @ PNC PARK

Runs Scored/Runs Against
Dodgers 45/38
Pirates 37/50:drink:

Ian Snell went 0-1 with a 10.29 ERA:pucking: in two starts against the Dodgers.

Dodgers pitcher Seo, a control artist with a five-pitch repertoire, showed his stuff in the World Baseball Classic!!!

Snell is nothing to scream about neither is the Pirates.

Dodgers Bullpen ERA so far 4.15
Pirates Bullpen ERA so far 7.06:smoking:

Dodgers typically start out well every season.:money8:
Pirates look like crap!!
:nohead:
Who do you like?
Would love input here. I am a terrible baseball
handicapper so far!!:cryingcry

I'm with you on this one Doc. Good luck to us.

Oh yeah, the Dodgers own the Bucs.

From covers.com:

LA are 20-6 in the last 26 meetings in Pittsburgh.
LA are 35-16 in the last 51 meetings.

Do you know how everyone always called Reggie Jackson Mr October?

Well if I had to give a name to Jay Seo it would be Mr before the all-star break.

This guy has been tremendous in his career before the all-star break. For whatever reason, once the season gets into late July he falls apart. But in April,May and June he is money in the bank.

Seo gave up 3 earned runs in 3 innings but I feel he should settle down on Tuesday. This game reminds me of the Houston/Washington matchup on Monday. Houston won 5-4.

Yeah that 9.00 ERA is the reason we are getting this fair price.

Also dodgers usually start off good.

It goes alot deeper than just that one 3 inning stint. He did retire the first 8 batters that he faced. Plus Seo is a starter by trade. He has always been a better starter and that was a relief appearance. Here are his numbers pre-all-star break.

2005-preallstar 2-1 2.00 ERA
2004 4-5 4.76
2004 post all-star break 1-5 5.17
2003 pre 5-5 3.64
post 4-7 4.07

He really tails of in July. If you take just April, May and June the numbers get even better.

Im not much of a trends person, but first half vs 2nd half is one of the few that I think really means anything.

On top of that, this is a total mismatch. I dont even want to get started on I Snell. The Dodgers made a great move getiing Furcal in the offseason. It just gets the whole team going in the right direction. Look what Pierre has done for the Cubs. It makes a huge difference. You also have a healthy J.D Drew which the Dodgers missed for practically the whole season last year. The Dodgers are a complete baseball team, especially if Eric Gagne can come back and perform which is not looking great it this point.

Your 100% right, dodgers have the best farm system in all of
baseball!! I think the Dodgers have the best team they have had
in many seasons. Living in LA like I do, I must say their is more
buzz about this season then recent past.

One other thing CHOP Gagne is gone-But Danny Baez is not a bad
back up plan!!

Love the play my CA brother, but i do disagree on 1 thing. The Angels have the best farm system in my opnion. Look at some of the talent that they have let go in the past couple years. Not being a jerk that is just my 8 beer reply. LETS GO DODGERS:money8:

Can I make my case for the Braves farm system as being the best?

The Braves entire starting lineup minus Edger Renteria is all from the Braves farm system.

C Mcain
1st LaRoache
2D Giles
3b C Jones
of A.Jones
of J Francour
of R Langerhans

Every last one of those starters came from the minor league system including most of the backups.

You can also throw in John Smoltz, Kyle Davies and Ramirez from the starting pitching staff.

Most of the Pen is also Braves system players although they suck!!!!!!! So that does not count.

I bet the Braves have more of there own players from there own system than any other team in the league. Many more great players in the pipeline right now waiting for there chance.

This is comming from a team that picks close to last in the draft every year.

The Braves HAD the best farm system. You can't have a good farmsystem if all your players on currently on the actual MLB roster. hehe. They do get credit.

Now it's the Dodgers turn. Though we are a little flat in the minors in starting pitching, the Dodgers haven't had any homegrown talent since Pedro (still upset), Nomo was imported talent - but was playing for the Dodgers semi-affiliate in Japan. We are riding high on this kid named Chad Billingsley coming up to triple A right now. The ironic part is that if every single starter for the Dodgers were to get hurt this year, we'd have suitable replacements waiting in triple A.

Jose Cruz becomes Joel Guzman
Kenny Lofton has already become Jason Repko
JD Drew would become Andre Ethier (acquired for Milton Bradley + Antonio Perez)
Billy Mueller becomes Andy LaRoche (yes, young brother)
Rafael Furcal becomes Willy Aybar/Oscar Robles (not a prospect)
Jeff Kent becomes the same duo listed above
Nomar has already become James Loney
Prospect Navarro becomes better hitting prospect, Canadian Russell Martin
Ace Lowe becomes Billingsley
Set up man turns from a propsect in Brazoban to Kuo, whose already on the team, and lastly
closer goes from Baez/Gagne to Jonathan Broxton.

I know its hard to measure talent with names, but it felt good to write them all out.

There's also one more OF you'll here from in a couple years named Matt Kemp. Kid is going to be one hell of a power hitting OF.

Of the 11 players listed above, 6 of those made the top 50 in baseball, and I believe two or three made top 10.

Dodgers love playing in Pittsburg.

As for Jae Seo. Of course his numbers tailoff in the 2nd half of the season. The 3rd and 4th time around, he is no longer a filthy/sneaky pitcher. He becomes very hittable. He has little to no velocity and relys on location and mechanics to beat you. Just takes a team to recognize his style a few times to sort him out. I have no doubt he'll have some problems in the 2nd half the season this year too. But i'm not nearly as worried about him, as I am Odalis Perez.

Dodgers had quite a drought over the past few years though. When we had Dan Evans and Kevin Malone they pilfered our system. It took the trades of LoDuca/Mota and Shawn Green to get respectable. Those larger deals along with many smaller ones, and then the insight of Logan White, the scouting director put the emphasis back on the minor leagues, where the Dodgers needed it.
