Yasiel Puig may well get his helicopter, but sadly for him, he won’t be allowed to use it to get to ballgames.

According to Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times, Puig will need to find an alternative means of transportation to get to the ballpark.

It’s both hilarious and mildly alarming that Puig needed to be told this. Even beyond federal law, where do you land it? How do the logistics work?

Puig can still get his helicopter, but he’s going to have to commute to ballgames the old fashioned way.

If there's a pad to land, not breaking federal law at all unless the area has a temporary flight restriction on it.

The sound of it Freaks me the hell OUT

Cuz I am Deathly Terrified of Wasps.

And those bigass crazy Black Bumblebees.

Which a few people have insisted to me are not Bees at all.

I forget what they say they are but they look and act, sound just like Bees just about 4 times bigger with a much Lower and scary tone.

Not aware of a landing pad near the ballpark. Guess there could be one somewhere. Might have to land and take a cab. Would be a long walk to the stadium especially if you are carrying some extra equipment.

That would be funny since the whole point he's said he wants to 'copter in is to avoid traffic and cabbies get ya stuck in traffic on purpose to run the meter up. They also take the longest route possible to get the biggest fare so Puig would wind up assaulting a cabbie with this approach.

Kobe takes his helicopter from Newport Beach to Staples for all the Laker home games. Seems like Dodger Stadium would have plenty of room to land a chopper.

One obvious issue surrounding 'copter commuting would be that Dodger Stadium lacks a landing pad -- which makes sense since the FAA prohibits flights near stadiums holding MLB, NFL, NCAA or NASCAR events.

Curiously, the law does not ban activity near NBA arenas, which is why Kobe Bryant has chartered helicopters to Lakers games in past years.

Dodgers marketing official Lon Rosen broke the bad news about the FAA ban to Puig, who continued to joke about trying it anyway.

"It's now turning into a comedy routine," Rosen said.
