Rob really would not ban a veteran contributer without checking with me but I know he makes it a point to make his own personal points but still as a moderator try to be fair.
As head mod I can ban posters who I feel deserve it but try very hard to not make it personal. Sure I am liberal and would like nothing better than to clean the forum out of the right wing element that do not show the forum any respect, just as there is a left wing element that does the same. However I haven't done that despite urges to the contrary.
For the record Joe C. on thin ice but he is still posting when it would take a few keystrokes to send him packing.
He posts rants like this, which I find very insulting and disrespetctful.
