Yes, all wealth is accumulated by cheating/stealing from poor people. Talk about delusion.

maybe not thug but definitely a more negative backlash

There would have been more backlash if it was some asshole rookie making this comment, black or white. But a class act thats been in the league as long as nash no way. Would be no different if garnett, pierce, kobe, said it

Nash doesn't make an outlandish amount of money.

Kobe was paid out of respect and because of what he has done for the Lakers

$9MM+ for a 40 year old PG with stats & minutes in secular decline is pretty outlandish. Looks good in a suit sitting on the bench though, at least his tailor is benefiting from the contract, b/c the lakers sure aren't...

Doesn't matter what he wants, nobody is going to pay this broken down "has-been"...Lakers need to quit giving outlandish contracts to over-the-hill players, decision to throw a bunch of money at Kobe has also blown up in their face..

What do you mean nobody is going to pay him? He is being paid as we speak, lol

simply not true

Absolutely true. Years ago Letell Spreewell made a comment about having to feed his kids when referring to millions of dollars in his contract. guy was called every name in the book for it.

When the comment comes from a black guy....it gets much more backlash.

Ty Law also said he "Can't feed his kids with superbowl rings" when the Pats wouldn't pay him top dollar.

I don't think its race though really (not completely atleast), a lot of it depends on who the player is. There are other guys in the NBA that I think would get a pass for doing what Steve Nash is doing too...

Some athletes are just way more polarizing than others. Look at Tiger, when he was fucking tons of sluts the entire world camedown harsh on him. A lot of athletes fuck tons of sluts and nobody cares. Paul George knocked up a stripper 2 months ago and most of y'all probably didn't even hear about it.

I agree with you in the sense that I do think white athletes are more likely to get a pass but Spree probably isn't the best example. He had other incidents, choking his coach being the main one, that contributed to people not giving him the benefit of the doubt.

NBA: Lakers' Nash to miss season

LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles Lakers guard Steve Nash has been ruled out for the season because of a back injury, putting the two-time NBA MVP's career in doubt.
The Lakers and Nash announced their joint decision Thursday, less than a week before the start of what would have been the 40-year-old Nash's 19th NBA season. He played in only 15 games last season with nerve root irritation, but he hoped for a comeback season after several months of rehabilitation.

Instead, the Canadian point guard played in just three preseason games before feeling more back pain. He then strained his back while carrying bags several days ago.
"Being on the court this season has been my top priority, and it is disappointing to not be able to do that right now," Nash said. "I work very hard to stay healthy, and unfortunately, my recent setback makes performing at full capacity difficult."
Nash will "focus on rest and rehabilitation," according to the team's news release. He is in the final season of his three-year deal with the Lakers.
Nash has played in only 65 games since the Lakers traded four draft picks for him in 2012. Nash, the NBA's oldest active player, is due more than $9 million this season.

Sprewells comment was that he could not feed his family on his current contract which was several million per year while Nash just said that he wont retire because he wants the money due to him. There is a big difference in the two statements.

Look I make a lot of race related observations/jokes/comments and this one above all trumps pretty much everything else

When people like you they will let you get away with a bunch of shit and when they dont
they will try and nail you for anything.

Whitey didnt turn on OJ right away they loved him for years, it wasnt until it was "obvious" that he was guilty
before the shit really got deep.
and on the other side of the coin
Blackey would have wanted OJ locked up if this had been his first wife, there would have not been the outrage
and public dancing upon acquittal if she were the one who died. They werent happy because they really thought
he was innocent, it was because he BEAT the man and his acquittal made up for some of the injustices against them
over the years.

Good example here why John Stockton should be more appreciated.

He was still going strong at 41 years old before he announced his retirement...
