Or even anyone just competent with wiring? I have an old "aquatic remote switch" that toggled between spa/pool mode. I assume there is power running there because it used to light up when you put it in spa mode. I put in a smart system, so that switchplate is now useless. I wanna put a wall mounted tablet there for smart home control. The mounts I'm looking at have various options to keep the tablet powered. 12V to 5V converter, 120V to 5V converter, and others. For the 120 I assume I'd need to tap into a nearby outlet, but there is nothing close. Isn't there already power running into that box anyway? Just need to know what converter to buy. I'd just have my guy come take a look at it but he's out of town and I wanna get this thing on order. Lemme try to post picture. Thanks if anyone can help!
I’m guessing you got a panel by pool equipment and that cat 5 wire being fed from your automation box back to house. Maybe if it’s in conduit your electrician can pull new wire from old . However if it’s not in conduit gonna be real hard nearly impossible .
your not kidding on that comment. In this environment very hard to get anything that requires a chip. My electrician that does all my pool work astronomical Costs. Getting circuit breakers are hard to come by. When you work for wealthy clients and you tell them no I really can’t get that or do that anytime soon at first they were like fuck you will get somebody else . Well that somebody else has the same problem.
