So, I'm sitting around with a few buddies at the bar tonight, and I guss I show my age when I bring up the ole 3.2 beer (3.2% alcohol) days. Way back when, if you were 18-20 years of age in Ohio, you bought 3.2 beer...."regular" beer for 21 and older. Is this practice still followed in any states?....Just curious. When I mentioned it to the guys, they looked at me as if I had lobsters crawling out of my ears.

I too recall the days of 3.2% beer, having grown up in Ohio. I am not sure too many states had that type of situation. I mentioned it to some buddies in NJ and they thought I was full of BS. I also mentioned a Pony Keg. They had no idea what I was talking about. LMFAO

Yep, only thing for sale in Colorado on Sunday---or any other day in anything but a liquor store. It used to be 18 yrs for 3.2 & 21 for the rest, but once the 18 yr old thing went away, they had to find a use for the 3.2.

Given the (MASSIVE) power of Coors here, and the investment that they have into the "3.2 making process", it lives.....at least here.

I remember when you couldn't buy liquor on sundays in Indiana, and couldn't serve before 1 PM on sundays in NY, and even could not serve a woman, standing up at a bar in Maine!!!!!

Yeah, I almost forgot about that. Had to buy 3.2 on Sundays....I remember my dad going to a place on the Sunday morning before a graduation party that was being held at our house. He was making an illegal purchase of sorts.....LOL....he knew the store owner, who let him smuggle out the "full-powered" beer. I remember thinking how cool it was to be part of such a high-stakes adventure.

This was and still is BS. I have met Beer Manufacturing Reps from most of the Major Breweries. The beer all comes out of the same barrel. It may be labled differently but it is all the same.
