DO POSTERS HAVE A RIGHT TO BE HERE OR IS IT A PRIVILEDGE?

Am I missing something on this?

Of course the Posters have a right to be here and be here OFTEN

That is why this site exists.

If there were not posters and a right to be at the site then there would be no advertisment dollars?

Now that does not mean that a person who has violated some site rules or is using the form in a manner that is not suitable cant be banned.

But the premise must be the posters have a right to be here and in fact should be encouraged on behalf of the advertisers

It is in fact a privledge that the advertisers get to see and reach so many people each day.

I have never had a conversation with someone going the opposite of me on a certain play that didn't get slightly heated. After reading the forums recently I see if your not kissing ass or slapping backs your not suppose to post.

The best info I got from here always came from the discussions from one point to the other. The Mods have stopped this from happening. The guy above me is a major reason why this place is turning into less a useful source of information and more a stat tracking forum.

This may be news to you all here but us that don't post much want to read thoughts on games not your record from last basketball season. Everyone should be given a opportunity to express there thoughts regardless.

Thank you Dante. I watch more then anything, I'm just upset about recent events here. This really shouldn't be that difficult.

I wish you the best Dante. Freedom of speech should expand across all boundaries. If you can't handle a little badgering on the internet I would hate to see you in a discussion in real life. If you don't like to discuss your plays don't, easy as that.

Two words for you.

Bettors World.

That's what happens when you start banning too many people.

I feel that it is a privilige to be here. While this is a public arena if it were a right then everyone could have free reign. Without rules and people to enforce them the site would go down hill and you would have no people posting.

The problem is how do you keep the necessary banter between desenting opinions while still maintaining decorum. That is a fine line that someone needs to walk just make sure that whoever is the ultimate decision maker stands by the same set of rules for everyone otherwise that is when you will find yourself without posters.

This place is much like life if you disrespect to many people you will find yourself with few friends and not welcome but if you present your views in a clear concise manner people will listen even if they have a differing opinion.

Wow...

Lots of different views and different answers to my original question...

I particularly liked Jazz's and Details' posts on this topic...

For those of you who believe it is an inherent "right" to be here, I'd have to disagree...

Without rules and regulations, this place would be anarchy at best, comedy central if we were lucky, and perhaps so confusing to follow that nobody would be around long...

We DO have RULES that are displayed on a separate page which nobody apparently reads before signing up for this forum...

But in reality, this forum reminds me of High School. There are different clicks which certain posters belong to...

There is the wiseguy club, the jocks corner, clowns and cynics, squares, geeks, etc, etc, etc...

Then, there are those who don't belong to ANY fraternity and I'd label them as the INDEPENDENTS....

I likeTHE INDEPENDENT group the best, perhaps because that's who I hung out with in College, after graduating from High School, lol...

It's obviously a "membership based" forum, and the decision on who to keep and who to toss is obviously yours.

There is no magic answer, and it really depends on what direction you want the forum to go.

There is a downside to letting the place turn into a free-for-all, but if you toss everyone who isn't a "good little supporter", then you're left with a bunch of mods and a few puppets talking to themselves.

How many different times can all the mods back pat each other with their "atta boys"? It's one thing to sacrifice quantitiy for quality, but when both are going downhill, it's time to think about change.

p.s. Ken, would it be too much to ask to get a "Yes", "No" or "No comment" regarding my 3 day old unanswered questions regarding eWinner.

Thanks

TTinCo,

Sure I will answer so long as you can show me where it is..

P.S.

We are averaging between 350-400 new posters per week, so I'd have to disagree with your last comment about quantity...

I'd also rather have some more intelligent new faces than ones who just sit here tring to reek havoc by criticizing others with no regards to their feelings..

Its your form you can ban who you want. It is not a right to post here. You do have mods and a rubber room I am soft in my old age so I wouldn't ban I'd bounce. Your mods are reading this and yet lander & kosar are allowed to rant
So why haven't the mods stepped in to me that is why you have mods. Cut thrue the chase boys
and do so moderating.

forums are for opinions and debate over topics......... in the RX's case it should be sports gambling opinions and topics are something like that..........

Imo............KNOWN SCAMMERS, FRAUDS, CHEATS AND OTHERS OF THAT NATURE.......SHOULD BE BANISHED......all others i dunno........thats why the mods get paid the big bucks.....

Thanks for the opinions everyone. When someone admits not only they don't like it here but every chance they get they will come by and make as many others miserable as they can, they need to go. No-brainer. Not sure why they don't just move along on their own.

Just because someone has a differing opinion, isn't friendly, speaks with an accent etc...., no big deal. It takes all kinds to make a world. But when a few folks want to be internet tough guys and disrespect everyone else here they need to go. I don't care about me, I can shoot flames back and forth all day long. Unfortunately they don't pay me to do that now.

Anyway we are still working it but yes there will probably be some asked to move on very soon. We get 350 new faces a month and we sweat banning two or three talking heads who can't think for themselves? Guess they will have to be <respected> somewhere else soon.
