I think the whole point is to do it when you can get away with it. If you can get away with it and no one is slapping your wrist for it... Why stop?

Other sports are not nearly as manipulative as basketball.

on top of that... If you get in the refs face, you are T'd up if not thrown out. Why do you think they do that ? Think about it.... Because there is bogus call after bogus call and the NBA isn't going to allow the players to show them up after they make their shitty calls.

Unlike soccer, baseball, or football where you see players/coaches barking at officials

David Stern has repeatedly threatened former coaches, former players.... announcers(van gundy) if you say stuff about how the nba is rigged, they will make sure you don't have a job associated with the NBA.

Shaq, Barkley, and kenny are even HUSH!!!!!!!! when talking about shit like this. Because they know.

If everyone knows the NBA is rigged, do you think they have as many viewers as they do now? Hell no. Therefore they will never admit it.

Bucks 25% according to the math

They are the Bucks, the smallest market team in the entire NBA

NO WAY David Stern lets them win the Lotto with C's/Phi/LAL/NYK in fold

12-1 sounds fair

Who says they have a 25% chance? That is just madeup odds according to you....

I'll do 10-1 on the Bucks winning it. You got 4 big market teams all in need of winning in there, you should be feeling pretty good about that if it isn't on the up and up...

Also if it is rigged why do the Celts get no love? Big market, storied tradition

They screw us out of Duncan in '97

They screw us out of Durant in '07

We better get Wiggins this year

I've been watching NBA for 30 years and the players do way more rigging than the refs. Most fixed games occur when lines are 7 or above and the SU Winner is no longer in doubt. When the Dog is supposed to Cover they drive in for layups and either make them or go to the FT Line. When the Favorite is in the bag the Dog tosses up 3 point cinder blocks and fouls after the rebound. I once saw the Lakers (-8.5) blow a 28 point lead in the 4Q and win by 6. After POR finally cut it to 8 they fouled Nick Van Exel with 30 seconds left. He grazed the front rim on the first. Before the second shot he turned to a POR player and clearly said, "GLASS!" The TNT mic picked it up. On his second shot he heaved it so hard off the backboard that it never hit the rim. The ball ended up in the hands of the same player he whispered, "GLASS" to, THIRD FROM THE BASKET. He started a 3 on 1 break that resulted in a layup, which concluded the fixtivities.

There is actually pretty good evidence that isiah and someone else (I think Mahorn) shaved pts in 89 because they got into debt gambling with some shady people. Armen Keteyian reported on it for ABC in the late 90s...

Basketball is only the toughest sport to officiate because it is the easiest of all professional sports to scrutinize. The fans sit closer to the action than any other major sport in America. In terms of actually calling fouls and violations it's not insanely difficult. You have 3 officials feet away from the action. I've played a lot of ball in my day and have sat courtside at many d-1 games. I don't believe the league is outright rigged but I do believe it is tampered. You can't watch the ridiculousness of some of the calls and noncalls that go on in the NBA and without naivety say the ref just missed that call and it's totally understandable considering how great of athletes these men are. It's really been a joke for a long time.

Some of you are insane. The NBA does not rig games. Players are not fixing games, league officials are not telling refs to favor one team or another. This is pure conspiracy nonsense with absolutely no real evidence.

I said a normal comment in regards to the conversation. I don't think you know what a "troll" is. Lol.

Calling people "insane" is a normal comment? These are reasonable sports gamblers who watch these games intently. There is plenty of evidence in this thread to support their position that the NBA has a serious problem.

There has been zero evidence that the NBA rigs games. And it is insane to believe they do without any evidence whatsoever. I can understand maybe someone questioning it but to say definitively that they do rig games is insane.

It gets people going here. If you think its rigged I wouldn't worry about it too much, theres like 500 channels if you got a good cable provider....

Would like to bet Bucks 10-1 to win lotto if anyone wants.

I just think it's hilarious how they think federal offenses that would put people in jail and ruin a billion dollar entity goes on like it's just common knowledge.
